@jeremycorbyn 42 year Labour voter and member for much of that time. Please listen to the message from the result that the wider electorate do not like strident and divisive messages. They look to Labour to be positive and not to indulge in the blame game.
@johnmcdonnellMP As a Labour party voter for 42 years and member for most of those years I am depressed by the state of the party and it's leadership. Something has to change urgently. Listen dispassionately to both our natural supporters and those who could have voted for us. Do not prejudge.
@liamyoung Re the media bias argument, yes but 'twas ever thus. Didnt stop Harold Wilson and Blair being hugely successful Labour leaders. And you can't change anthing out of power. I think it was more than just the leadership: the language used to sell Labour was strident and divisive.
@liamyoung I spent the last 3 weeks of the election campaign in hospital (Wolverhampton where 2 of the 3 constituencies went Tory). Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, patients and their visitors all said they would not vote Labour because of Jeremy Corbyn. Should be our natural supporters.
@RichardBurgon I am a Labour party voter of 42 years. Unfortunately I spent the last 3 weeks in hospital. The vox pop I heard in the ward from nurses, health care assistants, patients and their visitors was that they could not stand Corbyn. No mention of Brexit. Our natural supporters.
@RichardBurgon I thought we were supposed to be having a period of calm reflection to analyse and understand the reasons for the loss. All I hear are the senior leaders of the party attributing the loss to Brexit and (as ever) the media. Next thing it will be 'false consciousness'. Absurd!
Lifelong (42 years) Labour party member, voter and supporter. Has McDonnell not got anything more to say than to use the hoary old media blame argument. Twas always thus but didn't stop Wilson and Blair. Insults the intelligence of our natural voters.

@HarrietHarman@UKLabour@jeremycorbyn In what parallel universe did Corbyn and this nanifesto 'win' the argument? I speak as a lifetime (42 years) Labour supporter, voter and member. Unless I have missed something we are in opposition again and have haemorrhaged seats to the Tories. How did we win the argument?
1) Both Johnson & Corbyn spin today is to “blame Remain” - saying Labour lost because legions of its working class voters decided they wanted a hard Tory Brexit. Trouble is, this is not really true. And it is dangerous.
