Especially when it came to storage temperature. I think it was keep the human meat refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below. For long-term storage, it should be frozen at 0°F (-18°C) or lower.

Not to mention to avoid any diseases in for the meat not properly being cooked that could cause Kuru A. Bourdain ensured the meat was cooked to a safe internal temperature.

For example, most pathogens in meats are killed at temperatures around 165°F (74°C). Ground meat should be cooked thoroughly as it has a higher risk of contamination.

Why?

Prion diseases. Diseases like Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) are caused by prions, which are extremely resilient to cooking and can be transmitted through infected human tissue.
