Usai pertemuan empat mata, saya dan Paduka Seri Baginda Tuanku kemudiannya menyaksikan pemeteraian Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) mengenai Kerjasama Pengurusan Bencana antara Malaysia dengan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Pembaharuan MoU ini juga mencerminkan tekad kedua-dua negara untuk terus memperkukuh kerjasama dalam pengurusan bencana, termasuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan serta keupayaan bertindak balas terhadap sebarang kemungkinan.

Ikhtiar ini bukan sahaja penting dalam melindungi keselamatan dan kesejahteraan rakyat kedua-dua negara, malah melengkapi inisiatif di peringkat ASEAN dalam mendepani cabaran bencana yang semakin kompleks.

Kami turut bicara soal kesinambungan usaha dakwah dan pengajian dalam memperluas kefahaman Islam. Pandangan serta bimbingan beliau akan terus menjadi pedoman penting dalam mengangkat tradisi keilmuan Islam yang luhur dan membawa rahmat kepada seluruh umat.

Saya juga menyingkap kembali kunjungan Sheikh al-Azhar al-Sharif ke Malaysia sebelum ini yang meninggalkan kesan amat mendalam kepada seluruh umat Islam di Malaysia.

Insya-Allah, kami berharap dapat kembali bertemu di Kaherah atau Kuala Lumpur bagi meneruskan ikhtiar dakwah dan pengembangan ilmu demi kemaslahatan umat sejagat.
