Made with AI, so it's quite experimental.
No vowel length distinction yet.

Blessed are the Greek nerds! 😉📖
I put together a chillhop track with the Beatitudes sung entirely in Koine Greek (with the text on screen so you can read along).
A great way to memorize Matthew 5!

I’ve become a huge fan of @paulthomasloan this year. Highly recommend his podcast “Jesus and Jewish Law” and am very much looking forward to reading his book by the same name.
Just gonna chime in quickly while everyone's up in a tizzy about Penal Substitution to say that "The wages of sin is death" is not a great translation of Rom 6:23.
Better for getting the sense would be something like "The rations provided by Sin lead to death."

@AndrewRillera@paulthomasloan@DennyBurk It tells us that he's not trying to engage arguments or persuade anyone. He's signaling to his followers that Comer, Rillera, and skepticism toward PSA is "them" not "us." It's a much more effective tactic for controlling what his group thinks than making arguments/using reason.
I've never subscribed to a Substack until now. @jasonstaples keeps putting out deeply thoughtful takes that aren't afraid of questioning everything and checking the details. This is how we should all be doing it. For an excellent post:

All the right shots fired. I highly recommend this sermon from Jason Staples, even if many will disagree with his interpretation.

@cmeadows37@jasonstaples@mikeywaters3@jmyers1018@dburnett51 @APhillipsWilson Fredriksen's paper was mostly a rehash of her previous work, and Novenson's started with an example (a dead person not being subject to kilayim regulations) that he couldn't even apply to Paul (he stated in the Q&A that Paul wouldn't wear kilayim despite having died with Christ).
@cmeadows37@jasonstaples@mikeywaters3@jmyers1018@dburnett51 @APhillipsWilson FWIW, from a student's perspective, both of those papers were frustrating to listen to as they didn't really engage with the difficult texts in the sense of providing something with explanatory power (imo). I thought that was supposed to be the point of the session.
