@the_dequavis23 @rodrigoiy12 @TungSZN I'm not defending Hayes. I wish we didn't have him on our team. I only repeated than many in baseball think he's best defensive 3B. Maybe he's not, but my point is that being a great defender alone doesn't keep you on the field, but hitting does.

Unless you think they are competing for MVP which they're are not. So why bring them up together. There's no competition between them.

But why not ask how good of a first basemen JJ would be? He's a 5'10" midget. How would his recieving numbers look?

@TaiwanDude @TungSZN Why doesn't a leadoff guy like JJ have a bunch of doubles and a guy like sal does. It isn't like Sals would be doubles all go over the fence. It's because he's a gap hitter more than he's a HR hitter. He takes what is given. Watch them both and see that JJ isn't there yet.

@TheOhioLegacy Joey himself admitted they were correct and even changed his entire approach later in his career to reduce his walks and batting average to favor more power. Realizing that indeed he was not a leadoff hitter and his job was to knock in runs and not to walk.

Dude hits more RBI, equal HR, and a higher batting average and he's not as good on the road? Sure you can cherry pick a stat or two, but he might actually be better away.

@Vladifan091 @BraydenWayantt @DTBCardinals @paceball__ Yes they are. To a degree. Obviously there is subjectivity to it. And there was a time when scoreres were much more stringent than they are now in assigning errors. All that said, that terrible defender Sal only has two. Same number as JJ.

@TaiwanDude @TungSZN WAR is not as real because before a ball is even hit it adjusts for non occurring events and gives certain positions more credit. The traditional stats are things that have concretely and verifiably happened.
