@russell_uon A nice point @russell_uon! Your could also consider Bloom's Revised Taxonomy when designing a unit of work and within your pedagogical practice.
@Christo52918550 Great article @Christo52918550. This article reiterates the devastating impact drought has on farming and the consequential pressure applied to farmers.
It also highlights the importance of water conservation and #sustainability.
Are you considering building a flower or vegetable garden within your unit of work? Farmers markets are a great way for students to learn everything from cultivation of crops to business economics. Sell your school grown products at your local market.

Forget pen pals! Globally connected classrooms are what's in now.
If you haven't considered utilising this idea within your unit of work, IT'S A MUST. Connect and learn from and with others around the world.

'Connectedness', an element within the #QualityTeachingFramework, underpins the application of school knowledge into real-life contexts.
Connect your lessons with problems beyond the classroom and provide students with opportunities to solve real-world issues.

Including #globalperspectives into a unit of work or project? This document is a must-have!

It contains advice for teachers and school leadership teams on how to integrate global perspectives into the classroom.

Koree Island Pumping Station - Is a community asset within the city Port Macquarie that could teach local students about the importance of water management and the effects of drought within their community.

Long showers. Running the tap while brushing your teeth. Watering the garden in the middle of the day. This was ME prior to learning that #everydropcounts.

@ABurnheim Yes, it could. You could investigate sustainable practices and different geographical locations in a geography lesson and identify similarities and differences. A concept map is a good was to achieve this.
@Emma12686461 If you are looking for more ideas about how to incorporate Spheros into more of your lessons, then check this website out - https://t.co/LtRDsIJNZE

Create a large scale map of your local community with chalk on the carpet and have students programme Spheros to navigate their way around. A great way to incorporate ICT and knowledge of the local community into one lesson #TeachUoN
@ATaylorUON I feel like a global event is a great way to integrate global perspectives into the classroom. The Olympics and Soccer World Cup for example. Students can look at participating teams and research about their culture. It's something topical to encourage engagement too.
@ATaylorUON Another great article @ATaylorUON. It really affirms the importance of school-community relationships. It is something I want to experience and develop on placement.
@ATaylorUON It's sad to think that this is the case. Students can gain so much from an environmental project.
"What's changed?" - Maybe a crowded curriculum or realignment of agenda. What was important yesterday isn't the same as today I guess...
@Samanth74933065 Yes, you're right. ICT use needs to relevant and meaningful. Tokenistic use of ICT resources can undermine a lesson very quickly and take away the real meaning of a lesson.
@andreaplatt7 I agree @andreaplatt7. I'm going to build on this idea in my unit of work. I feel there are so many learning opportunities within an idea like this. Thanks for sharing.
