Had one last lunch at the Transit Smokehouse & BBQ @TransitEdmonton at the historic Transit Hotel before they close their doors for good at the end of the day today. If you would like to check it out there is still some time today.
Stay tuned for the opening of their new location on Whyte Ave in the coming days! #midnightrooster #yeg #yeghistory
It said no action is required by membership holders, as all active memberships will be automatically paused during the closure, and will “be extended by the full duration of the closure.”

RBC estimates Canada’s four big oil sands companies will generate - *just in Q2* - $6.9 billion in royalties and $4.4 billion in taxes.
On top of which they generated $13.2 billion in free funds flow.
The gift that keeps on giving, and now being positioned for a second supercycle 📈

The Edmonton Police Service extends its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of a Manitoba Sheriff who was killed in a collision while on duty Tuesday morning.
No matter the badge, we stand together in our commitment to protect and serve.
Five generational investments in Alberta in seven days.
But Naheed Naheed and the Alberta NDP will still tell you with a straight face “no one wants to invest in Alberta.”
Reality has moved on. The NDP’s talking points haven’t.

Like many Albertans I am heartbroken by this tragic collision, and subsequent explosion and fire in north Edmonton. My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who lost his life, those who remain unaccounted for, everyone displaced from their homes, and all those affected by this devastating incident. Thank you to the first responders who acted so quickly and courageously. Anyone impacted who needs support can connect with community and mental health resources by calling or texting 2-1-1.
In Alberta, we have been rapidly building schools across the province. But, building more schools is only half the equation. We also need more great teachers in Alberta classrooms.
Let’s talk about it 👇
Another successful major sport event was hosted this weekend in Edmonton! Our government is thrilled to support the fifth annual Athletics Invitational highlighting the incredible talent of our Canadian athletes.
The Invitational was expected to generate up to $1.1 million in local economic impact, attract more than 200 participants and more than 3,000 spectators.
By supporting national and international competitions, our government is reinforcing Alberta’s reputation as a premier destination for major sport events.
From 2012 to now oilsands emissions intensity has decreased 28% as production doubled.
This isn’t green fantasy, it’s Alberta engineering, investment, and innovation all working together to give the world the energy it needs, while still protecting our environment.

A new report shows that Alberta’s oilsands sector is proving that economic growth and emissions reduction can go hand in hand.
Since 2012, oilsands production has doubled from approximately 600 million barrels to more than 1.2 billion barrels, while emissions per barrel have fallen by 28%.
Through innovation, investment, and the adoption of new technologies, Alberta continues to strengthen environmental performance while supporting jobs, energy security, and responsible resource development.

Another major milestone in our plan to double Alberta’s oil production.
Today, Alberta, Canada, and the Oil Sands Alliance (Alberta’s 5 largest oil producers) signed a landmark agreement that clears the way for tens of billions in investment in new oilsands production and CCS projects as well as tens of thousands of jobs.
We made a commitment to get Alberta building again, remove barriers to investment, and double our energy production. Today is another major step toward delivering on that promise.
@beachmagoo@cspotweet There a reason Alberta is the only consistent net contributor to Canada. It’s because we have the business friendly environment. Wanting to make Alberta more like all the “have not” provinces is a silly idea.
Once again, it’s abundantly clear: Premier Smith is taking Alberta in the right direction.
Nearly 80% of Canada’s entire past-year job gains happened in one province — Alberta.
The rest of Canada should be paying close attention.

We fight because every investment, every new job, every business that chooses Alberta means a parent can provide a little more for their family, a young person can build a career close to home, and a community can grow stronger.
That’s the Alberta Advantage. And it’s back!
