@Captain_Deltic It is, but on some routes they made other changes. On Edinburgh/North Berwick route they quietly removed advance fares - and the ‘anytime’ fare is more than double what the journey used to cost with an advance!

@Rail_Photter I think they were originally used for dining cars. By the late 80’s quite a few were running on the west highland line

@gymjamjan @seatsixtyone Definitely- It’s great. convenient, an adventure and if highland trains- scenery amazing. Staff are brilliant. Always think they’re marketing (luxury) slightly off target with the reality (ibis on wheels), but manage expectations and you’ll be fine!
