@LumoTravel There was a similar issue with Virgin Trains back in the early days - old trains with technical issues didn’t do great things for the ‘brand’…
@AlstomUK@ScotRail Hope you can do something to improve the overhead luggage space on these trains. Whenever I travel on these on EMR they have luggage piled up in doorways and wheelchair spaces…with frustrated staff and passengers…@ScotRail@transcotland
@AlastairDalton@TheScotsman hopefully @scotrail consider the lack of ‘above seat’ luggage space (can’t even fit a small suitcase) if they take these trains… I think they were designed by someone who travels light (and probably not by train!)…
@stephen37292ML I remember those! Day tripper tickets lasted until October 2021, replaced with the Roundabout (!) ticket. Validity of that stops at Dalreoch, just short of the West Highland line
@Captain_Deltic It is, but on some routes they made other changes. On Edinburgh/North Berwick route they quietly removed advance fares - and the ‘anytime’ fare is more than double what the journey used to cost with an advance!
@ScotRoadArchive Great photo! Top right is the old St Rollox Glasgow Works. Built in 1856, closed in 2019. Part of the site developed as a Tesco supermarket shortly after this photo taken but the old part listed Category B by @HistEnvScot in 2022.
@gymjamjan@seatsixtyone Definitely- It’s great. convenient, an adventure and if highland trains- scenery amazing. Staff are brilliant. Always think they’re marketing (luxury) slightly off target with the reality (ibis on wheels), but manage expectations and you’ll be fine!
@TurnipRail Great table! Shows cyclical nature of the investment and impact on plants like Derby and beyond. 88-94 was Mark4, sprinter and networker investment, probably making up for lost time in the early/mid 80’s…
