After breaking in to the Top 15 for most first grade appearances for the @sydneyroosters earlier this season, captain James Tedesco will jump to outright 14th spot when he plays his 196th first grade game for the Club on Saturday, going past one of the Club's greats; Mark Harris.
Today I had the honour of attending the state memorial for The Honourable Edward ‘Ted’ Joseph Egan AO, a true Territorian whose life helped shape the story of our Territory.
Ted’s legacy is woven through our music, our history, and our shared sense of identity. He brought people together through storytelling, humour and an unwavering love for this place.
Ted was a treasured icon — a man of integrity and authenticity. He reminded us what it meant to be true Territorians through his music and his remarkable contributions to public service.
His unique and rambunctious musical creations put Central Australia on the map and inspired many fellow musicians and creatives who followed.
His commitment to bridging cultures and celebrating the Territory’s unique spirit leaves a legacy that will endure for generations.
It was a privilege to join so many Territorians in celebrating a life so deeply lived and so generously shared.
Vale Ted — thank you for the stories and the legacy you leave behind.
I am honoured to accept the title of Australian of the Year 2025. This award belongs to the MND community, the countless Australians who have joined this fight and my wife Jan, our children & their partners, who have supported me every step of the way.

@mellowmoza00 @sydneyroosters I received mine before Christmas (we were advised they could be late) and whilst I agree that there are some wasted material I always look forward to receiving the pack.
We are thrilled to share a special video, created in partnership with the fantastic team at Bohdee Media and @Science_Academy, celebrating the remarkable career and achievements of NeuRA CEO and Institute Director, Scientia Professor Matthew Kiernan AM. @nervecentrals
Prof Kiernan has been elected as a 2024 Fellow of The Australian Academy of Science, joining the ranks of Australia’s most distinguished scientists. This prestigious recognition honours his achievements in advancing new treatments for #neurodegenerative diseases.
An outstanding piece of TV journalism.
I grew up loving the game of squash and Heather McKay was a magical name in the squash world.
A truly exceptional sportsperson.

Today is my 32nd birthday.
Over the last month, I asked several 90-year-olds what advice they would give to their 32-year-old selves.
Here's the life advice everyone needs to hear:
The inspiring children of @Rob7Burrow and Lindsey Burrow, Macy and Maya, are fundraising and raising awareness of #MND at their school.
Huge thank you to @Orchard_Head School and everyone involved.

Marie Young was diagnosed with #MND in her 70s, which means she can't access the #NDIS & must rely on the Aged Care system for supports. Yet in comparison to the NDIS, the funding for Aged Care is grossly inequitable – it is unfair & unjust!
