Iโve been going through a lot lately, and itโs reminded me why discipline matters. The early mornings, the training, the reading arenโt the point by themselves. Theyโre preparation.
Athletes train so they can execute when the game gets hard. Founders should think the same way. You build habits so you donโt spiral under pressure and so you can stay clear headed when it matters most.
Hard times are the game. Everything else is just practice.
If you want to grow your business faster, increase your volume. More outreach. More conversations. More experiments. More shots. Volume creates surface area for luck. Do more and let the results catch up later.
Thanksgiving week hits different. Work has been nonstop, but Iโm still grateful for the simple stuff I used to overlook.
A healthy body
A chance to chase my dreams
My team at Huppy
A roof over my head
Food on the table
Real gratitude for being alive and able to keep going.
Good artists copy. Great artists steal.
I used to feel imposter syndrome about not being first to market. Then I realized one brand alone cannot grow a category. More players means more validation. More awareness. A bigger pie for everyone.
Build your version. Take your shot.
Growth starts in the moments you want to hide.
The truth is vulnerability moves you forward more than pretending ever will.
Be honest with yourself. Show up anyway.
Bad days happen. Life spills into work. It is part of being human.
I am going through some personal things and this week has not been my best. But I am still showing up.
Your emotions are real but they pass. Feel them. Let them go. Keep moving.
Control yourself. Do the work anyway. That is how you win.
I used to be the ex finance bro who held every number and every decision. I thought control was leadership.
Opening up the business taught me the opposite. Vulnerability builds trust.
The things I grip the tightest are usually what slows our growth.
Real leadership is not control.
Real leadership is trust.
I heard something that really hit me.
Never ask someone what they would do.
Everyone has different fears and different goals.
Half the time when I ask for advice, I realize I am just looking for someone to confirm what I already want to believe.
Mentors matter. Learning from others matters.
But the final call is mine. Trust your intuition first.
Planning our company retreat taught me something important.
As a small team, we have flexibility. So instead of choosing what I wanted, I asked everyone what would make this special for them.
One teammate shared that he has always dreamed of visiting Little Corn Island. Hearing that made the decision easy.
Leadership is simple. Listen. Lean in. The people you lead live in a different reality than you do.
Protein has taken over CPG. Protein water, pasta, cereal, bars. Most people do not need this much. What they need is balance.
And yes, I lift, I train hard, and I still only consume about 150 grams a day.
The pendulum always swings back. Low fat, keto, plant based. Protein will have its moment too.
Not anti protein. Just pro balance.
My parents have always been my biggest supporters. Before Huppy had a contract manufacturer, they were the ones packing every product by hand.
Immigrants to the United States. Built everything from nothing.
My work ethic comes from them. My drive comes from them. I keep pushing because they did.
