So, I wrote a thing that was published a few days ago!
Check out my @astrobites article summarising just one result of an early Low Surface Brightness galaxy catalogue in the Dark Energy Survey.

Had an excellent time at #NAM2023 meeting with collaborators and friends, talking all things astro and even presenting two of my own results!
Till next year folks!
Excerpt: Mayur narrates the story of his grandmother who worked in the Malabar Hill, the country's wealthiest area as a domestic worker for 50 years without any leave. @MayurHelia7
The full episode of the Anurag Minus Verma podcast is now available on all podcasting platforms.
I used the color data I already had on this galaxy and stacked about 10 minutes worth of exposures to create this animation. You can see how close the supernova is to some nebulae in the arm… imagine the view from there!
My first paper has now been formally published in ApJ!
It was a bit of a wait, but thats on me for messing up a table right at the end.
Thanks again to everyone who helped on this project and all my co-authors! The full paper is here:

#EarthDay2023#ClimateChange is about consumption of the very richest people in our global society.
50% of global emissions are emitted by just 10% of the population.
90% of global emissions by 50% of the population.
We need to recognise climate justice to save our planet
Hubble observed a curious linear feature that was first dismissed as an imaging artifact from the telescope’s cameras. But follow-up observations reveal it is a 200,000-light-year-long chain of young blue stars created in the wake of a runaway black hole: https://t.co/l9ZiR0EeRX
All catalogues are published and available on Zenodo. They contain all the catalogue .csvs and the images in .tar.gz zip files. If anyones interested, please check it out!

My first first-author paper came out yesterday on the ArXiv!
This one is about work I did at the European Space Astronomy Centre @ESAesdc, looking for interacting galaxies in the Hubble Space Telescope archives.

And we didn't just find interacting galaxies. By accident, we found all sorts of weird and wonderful things. Like, jellyfish galaxies, gravitational rings, edge on protoplanetary systems and even some supernova remnants.
Many were already known about, but some were not!
@vrooje@NASAHubble I was so stressed out about sending these emails, but it really has been a great experience.
Lots of folks not just giving citations to use but asking about the work, and engaging in discussion. It feels very collaborative and science-y! For sure the best of astro.
After a very long wait (from pre covid times), my application to become an Irish citizen was finally approved! I'm finally an Irish and, therefore, EU citizen again!
