sociobiologist Edmond O. Wilson once described the fundamental problem w/ humanity: “We have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions, & godlike technology”
“There are manifold restraints 2 which every person is necessarily subject 4 the common good. On any other basis, organized society could not exist w safety 2 its members. Society based on the rule that each 1 is a law unto himself would soon be confronted w disorder & anarchy.”
Sen. @timkaine: Was the 2024 presidential election rigged?
Trump Nominee: President Trump won the 2024 presidential election.
Kaine: He was asked twice if the 2020 election was rigged and he wouldn't answer the question. You answered so easily when I asked you the question about 2024. The fact that you were unable to give the simple answer about 2020 raises serious questions.
The Southern Poverty Law Center has spent decades fighting racist extremism in America. Today, it’s under attack by MAGA and Todd Blanche.
If you don’t like being called a hate group, use your own speech to explain why—don’t get the government to bring a counterfeit criminal prosecution against one of America’s leading civil rights groups.
WATCH: “Where’s the evidence? You’ve never presented any evidence.”
Unhinged, lying Trump has a MELTDOWN and WALKS OFF when @kwelkernbc refuses to let him get away with lying about rigged elections.
Finally some pushback.
When governments erase history, censor remembrance, and punish dissent, it’s easy to feel powerless.
That’s the point of authoritarianism.
To us feel isolated, afraid, and silent.
In April 1989, some university students in Beijing gathered in Tiananmen Square.
At first, it was to mourn the death of a political leader. Soon, they began to call for political and economic reforms.
On the night of 3 June 1989, heavily armed troops and armoured vehicles moved to ‘clear’ protestors from Tiananmen Square.
Millions joined. However, they faced a brutal crackdown.
Thirty-seven years later, the exact number of victims is unknown.
For three decades, Hong Kong hosted the world’s largest annual candlelight vigils for the victims and families.
But in 2020, Hong Kong authorities passed the National Security Law, banning rememberance.
Chow Hang-Tung, vigil organiser, was charged, arrested and is in prison for daring to remember.
Remembering Tiananmen Square crackdown is nearly impossible in mainland China or Hong Kong now.
An entire generation is denied the truth about what happened on June 4, 1989.
But silence cannot rewrite history.
Memory survives because together, we refuse to let it disappear.
Remember Tiananmen. Today and always.

It's been 37 years since the June 1989 Tiananmen Massacre, when countless peaceful pro-democracy protesters were killed in Beijing.
To this day, the Chinese government has failed to accept responsibility for its crimes. Learn more:
“AND YOU STILL DARE TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH…”
Sasha Legerman: This is too accurate not to share.
This Australian’s response to Trump’s rant that “NATO does nothing for America” is absolutely devastating:
“Mate. You run a country where 600,000 homeless people will sleep on the streets tonight.
A country where 40% of adults can’t cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money.
A country where insulin costs more than a car payment, and people ration it just to stay alive.
A country where medical debt is the number one cause of bankruptcy.
A country where women die in hospital parking lots because doctors are too afraid of abortion laws to treat miscarriages.
You imprison more of your own citizens than any country on Earth.
More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea.
In the land of the free, 2 million people sit in cages, and a quarter of them haven’t even been convicted of anything.
They’re simply too poor to afford bail.
Your life expectancy is declining. You’re the only developed nation where that’s happening.
Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba’s.
Your children practice active shooter drills between math and English classes while you sell defense stocks to your friends.
Your minimum wage hasn’t changed in 15 years.
Your teachers work two jobs, your veterans sleep under bridges, and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that never attacked you.
And now a convicted criminal — found liable for sexual abuse, defending a pedophile, sleeping with a porn star, and running the biggest dumpster-fire campaign since the Taliban — is thanking you for yet another disaster.
And you call Greenland badly governed?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world.
Nobody there goes bankrupt because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because insurance refused treatment.
‘NATO wasn’t there when we needed them.’
When exactly was that, champ?
September 11?
Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU.
Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU.
Australia wasn’t even in NATO, and we still showed up. For twenty years.
And then you left at 2 a.m. without telling anyone and left everybody else to clean up the mess.
You don’t care that a great nation is being terrorized by your friend, and you haven’t shown it a single ounce of sympathy.
So maybe before calling other countries badly governed, take a look at your own backyard, you aluminum siding salesman with a spray tan.
The only thing badly managed in this picture is your damn mouth.
And you still dare to lecture the rest of the world?”
Ossoff: "We see a faithless president self-dealing while he depicts as Christ, while he depicts the Obamas as apes, while he plunges the nation into reckless war, sends prices soaring, and plunders our healthcare to cut taxes for those who already have spectacular wealth."
Just one week after tobacco giant Reynolds donated $5 million to MAGA Inc. and dined with Trump at his golf club, President Trump directed FDA to authorize the sale of flavored vapes.
This corruption is poisoning our kids and unleashing a new wave of addiction on America.
BREAKING
The Trump administration proposes trashing the federal oath of office. Instead of pledging allegiance to the Constitution, federal workers would swear like the 3 monkeys: "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"—WHILE autocratic evil is official government policy.@ap
This is amazing.
The New York Times put together a graphic of how much time cabinet members spend kissing up to Trump in meetings.
"On average, at least one of every six sentences either flattered Mr. Trump, gave him credit or criticized his political opponents."
North Korea.

Since taking office last year Pete Hegseth has ousted at least 21 generals. “He’s a 12-year-old boy with a set of army action figures who likes to play war,” sighs one former military official https://t.co/u9ZMF9A5l2
Pep Guardiola: “We cannot fight against [the feeling of] 22 years without winning the Premier League. They [Arsenal] have something unique. I knew that feeling when we arrived here, to win the first I know how you feel it.”
