Wicomico County's funding for education is lower in 2025 than it was in 2010, with a decrease of over $40 per pupil. When adjusted for inflation, this decrease is even more significant, amounting to $1,729 less per pupil, or nearly $26 million less per year.

Over 15 years, Wicomico Schools has consistently lagged behind other Maryland school systems in the per pupil funding provided by county government. As of this year, Wicomico ranks 24th out of 24 MD school districts in local per pupil funding for education. #DoBetterWicomico
