Toward a durable, dictator-proof Washington Post. WaPo needs a trust like The Guardian's, and my free Substack commentary offers details. https://t.co/VyAGHqKSzb
@Keidi_Keating Thanks, Keidi! “Drone Child,” my thriller about a genius child soldier. Recced by Kirkus and others but too scary for Hoopla. Not for faint of heart. Happy ending, though. Congolese-vetted. https://t.co/9cwXor9FlK
@CataclysmGames@TwBookClub Big thanks to @TwBookClub and others helping me. My Amazon numbers are great! #1 now in free Black mystery, thriller and suspense books, #2 in free suspense action fiction in general, and #3 in free action thrillers in general.
@CataclysmGames@TwBookClub Thanks, Bethie! Lemba is a brilliant, likeable boy of many talents, from learning English to flying and later designing drones in the mid and late 2020s. Even now, war is changing dramatically in Africa. Questions welcome!
@CataclysmGames@TwBookClub Lemba is not only smart, he considers the morality of his actions. He kills only when forced to, or to protect himself or his family. I wanted a hero who was not just interesting, but admirable even if he was not perfect. He ran the scams because they were a job requirement.
Wouldn't it be great if Libby could include Voice Dream-style capabilities? Audiobooks have their place, but so does TTS. Review of new macOS version of Voice Dream: https://t.co/COevfMcQyQ
Drone Child https://t.co/xrKbOhOsnb “Despite the content taking darker turns, the author carefully guided the reader through the worst of it tactfully and sensitively kept the story fascinating, eye-opening, and available to a broader range of readers.” #books#reading#africa
"A gripping, brutal account of a near-future African war, narrated by a young soldier... Purifier general 'Demon Killer' is an astonishingly effective portrait of a sociopath..." - BookLife on "Drone Child."

“I, Lemba Adula, happen to be the hero of Drone Child... So here I am, a Congolese villager…turned major industrialist. Just why did David Rothman write what he says is my fictitious war memoir? Rather presumptuous… But here’s Monsieur Rothman’s side.”
