His little brother fell 100 feet. He went down after him.
A 3-year-old boy plunged nearly 100 feet down a cliff and disappeared beneath the freezing water of a creek. Before rescuers could reach him, his 7-year-old brother went down the very same cliff to try to save his life.
Dakota Duke was hiking with his family in Oklahoma when his little brother, Riley, slipped over the edge. Dakota did not hesitate. He scrambled down the steep, rocky slope, injuring himself along the way, until he reached the water below.
Riley was underwater, badly hurt, and Dakota was not strong enough to pull him out. So the 7-year-old jumped into the freezing creek, grabbed his little brother, and lifted his head above the surface. He held him there, refusing to let him slip beneath the water again as rescuers raced to reach them.
Riley suffered a fractured skull, broken ribs, and a serious brain injury. Dakota needed stitches himself. But both boys survived. After everything they had been through, they were eventually back home together.
Dakota was only 7 years old. He could not carry his brother to safety, but he did the one thing that mattered most: he kept him breathing until help arrived. Thank God!
A boy walks into a pet shop and asks how much the puppies cost.
"Between 300 and 500 euros," the owner replies.
The boy reaches into his pocket, takes out some coins, and says,
"I only have 100 euros, but... could I at least see the puppies?"
The owner calls Lady, the puppies' mother, who comes running, followed by five little balls of fur. One of the puppies is left behind, visibly limping.
"What's wrong with that one?" the boy asks, pointing at the last one.
"He was born with a hip problem," the man explains. "Unfortunately, he'll limp his whole life."
Suddenly, a smile breaks out on the boy's face and he exclaims excitedly,
"That's the dog I want!"
The owner frowns.
"I can't sell you that one. If you want it, I'll give it to you; it's worthless."
The boy is silent for a moment, then looks at the man determinedly and says,
"I don't want you to give it to me. It's worth as much as the others. I'll pay you the 100 euros I have and 10 more each month until the price is paid."
The owner, surprised, replies:
"But, boy, this dog will never be able to run or jump like the others. He won't even play well!"
The boy then lifts up his pants, revealing a prosthesis on his left leg.
"Sir," he says calmly, "I'm not a very good runner either. And this pup will need someone who understands him.
A plane carrying a mother, father, and their two teenage daughters crashed into a tree in a Florida neighborhood and caught fire. As smoke poured from the wreckage, four neighbors rushed toward the burning aircraft armed with an axe, a hammer, and a fire extinguisher. But to save the family inside, they would have to fight their way into a burning aircraft before the flames spread.
It happened in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The family was approaching a nearby airport when their plane crashed into a tree outside someone’s home.
Hearing the impact, four neighbors rushed outside to find smoke rising from the wreckage and the family trapped inside.
Without hesitation, they grabbed tools and began smashing through the damaged cockpit, managing to pull the father and his two teenage daughters to safety, but the mother was still trapped inside.
With flames spreading quickly, some fought the fire using a garden hose and extinguisher while the others desperately worked to break through the twisted metal and reach her.
Finally, they pulled her free, saving all four family members.
Without these neighbors risking their own lives, this could have ended in tragedy. Instead, an entire family is alive because four ordinary people refused to stand by.
Let’s give these everyday heroes the recognition they deserve.
It would be great if more hardworking, authentic, and inspiring people like Gerald were celebrated as celebrities. These real-life everyday heroes are the role models younger generations actually need.
Elon reportedly covered Tommy Robinson’s legal fees and the case ended with him walking free. A billionaire paid the tab the British system kept running. Do you stand with Elon on that?
Another day passes, but Ann must never be forgotten. She had a life, friendships and a future she deserved to enjoy. Time cannot diminish the tragedy of a life taken, nor should it silence the questions that remain. Ann deserves dignity, remembrance and, above all, the truth.
Forty-year-old Christopher G. Robertson was kayaking in Georgian Bay in Collingwood, Ontario, when the kayak took on water and capsized.
He held onto his overturned kayak and called for help. Jamey Ruth Klassen, 16, high school student from Guelph, Ontario, was on the beach and entered the water and swam about 600 feet to the kayak.
By then, Robertson had submerged. Seeing him on the bottom of the lake, Jamey dived 12 feet and pulled him to the surface.
Jamey positioned Robertson face up with his head on her shoulder. He was unconscious and not breathing.
Grasping him around the chest with one arm, she used the other arm and her legs to swim toward shore with Robertson.
Jamey was nearly exhausted and shouted for help. A man on a paddleboard responded, and he and Jamey placed Robertson on the board.
The man took Robertson to shore, where he was removed from the water. Jamey swam to shore. Robertson was revived and taken to a hospital, where he was treated. He recovered.
