@Iamkabareebe Sudden vision loss is mainly caused by conditions affecting the optic nerve, retina or the brain. A thorough eye examination is required as soon as possible in order to avoid permanent blindness.

Todayโs flowers ๐ goes to Mengo eye hospital. Let me tell you briefly what Mengo does for me and my patients.
Back in 2019, when I had a bad surgical complication (the lens I was trying to put fell into the vitreous cavity) I referred the Patient to Mengo and they did the surgery free of charge for my sake. At that time, they had the only retina surgeon in the country.
In my entire career, I have 2 such scenarios and each time, Mengo sorted my Patients for free. Am I not blessed?๐๐
Secondly, I send all the babies with congenital cataract to them and they do the surgeries free of charge.
At the moment, my facility is not equipped to do cataract surgeries in babies.
Please, thank Mengo eye hospital for me๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ, and especially, Dr Lisbon Aliraki who does all the surgeries for my babies ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ
Dr Simon Arunga, a Ugandan ophthalmologist, was installed as the president of the College of Ophthalmologists of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa (COECSA).
The occasion took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Simon, becomes the first Ugandan to hold that position. Iโm glad that I was present to witness this transition ๐๐
I jumped so quickly on stage with our Ugandan flag. I usually carry one just for just๐๐
Simon is also the CEO of @ArungaDr that has made a tremendous stride in the delivery of quality eye care services in Uganda.
Join me to congratulate him๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ

At 4:30am, off to a beautiful village 470km from Kampala. As the morning chilliness penetrated to my marrow, I asked myself if it was worth the fatigue, but when I remembered a grandmother who can no longer sort her beans because of bilateral blindness, I picked up my stockings
Today, we had the privilege of hosting a life-changing eye care camp at All Saints Church, Muntundwe, where hundreds of vulnerable individuals received FREE medical services, courtesy of the compassionate Dr @SabrinaKitaka . This extraordinary initiative has not only restored vision but also reignited hope in countless lives.

Since completing school, this staff has volunteered in the eye unit for more than one year. Heโs always the first to arrive and the last to leave. I have never seen such dedication to patient care from someone whoโs not paid. Thank you, Andrew.
To think that you pay your rent, feed yourself and transport yourself daily just to do one thing: see eye care patients is humbling. I do not take that for granted.
As you patiently wait for employment, I just wanted the world to know what you are doing for eye care in Karamoja. And I thank your parents for tirelessly supporting your stay with us.
To my followers, if you would like to support Andrew in any way, reach out to my inbox and I will give you his contact. Thank you in advance
