We're not going to take this sitting down, and @MMAC_Chamber is developing a strategy to change the law, so our residents, existing businesses and future opportunities are not hamstrung by this issue. Wisconsin has the highest % of manufacturing jobs in the nation. A threat to America's manufacturing heartland is a threat Congress should deal with immediately.
Here is the environmental and economic injustice. If you were going to bulldoze every house, business and street, and in return plant trees, so SE Wisconsin was one giant forest, we would still be in the non-attainment zone. Why? Because the emissions that trigger our status originate from the Chicagoland region and Northern Indiana.
Yesterday, the MPS Board approved a $1.5 billion budget and action plan---but then adjourned into a closed session and left before the public and media were notified. @CBS58 was there https://t.co/WJYWQiFBbs
This evening the @MilwaukeeMPS board is voting to adopt a budget that will lead to the largest property tax increase in Milwaukee history. Milwaukee's property taxes are already too high. After a lack of transparency, erroneous reports, federal & state grave concerns raised, and a superintendent that "resigned" it is imperative the school board does not move forward with this vote and do more fact finding before they sock it to Milwaukee's families.

MMAC is thrilled to represent today as part of the new brand unveiling from @visitmilwaukee. @DaleKooyenga is joining @peggysmith, @CavalierJohnson, Genyne Edwards and moderator @MarkKassMBJ to talk about telling MKE’s story.
Independent fact checkers agree: the MPS referendum constitutes a 30 percent increase in the district’s property tax levy. Get the facts from the non-partisan, independent @WisconsinWatch@KertscherNews https://t.co/nkV8PqMnhk
Here's another reality: MPS has experienced annual operating surpluses of more than $50M per year in each of the last three years and has yet to spend all of the funding or hire for all of the positions it promised before the last referendum in 2020. https://t.co/U4sdHy9T2U
We were honored to welcome @SecYellen of the @USTreasury to our offices to take part in a roundtable discussion with area business leaders as part of her trip to Milwaukee today. MMAC President @DaleKooyenga had the pleasure of moderating.
