Kaddafi ona "Hz Muhammed'in hikayesini anlatan bir film sahipsiz kalamaz. Ekibini de al çöl ise çöl, para ise para." diyerek tüm imkanları sundu. Hatta Libya ordusundan binlerce askeri figür olarak gönderdiği de rivayet ediliyor.

Film gösterime girdiğinde ise Hollywood tarihinin en gergin gecelerinden biri yaşandı. Film galası basıldı ve insanlar rehin alındı. Galayı basanlar Anthony Queen'in Hz Muhammed'i oynadığına inanıyordu. Oysa ki sinema tarihinde bir ilke imza atılmış, başrolün gölgesi bile filmde gözükmemişti.

İşte tüm bu engellemelere rağmen Çağrı filmi tüm dünyada izlendi ve milyonları etkiledi. Ama kaderin en acı cilvesi ise İslam'ı dünyaya anlatan Akkad, İslam adı altında yapılan bir siyonist terör saldırısında hayatını kaybetti.
