BREAKING:

A U.S.-born American woman in Louisiana reportedly showed ICE her state ID and Social Security card.

ICE allegedly called them fake anyway.

She was handcuffed.
Shackled by the ankles.
Taken to a detention facility.
Separated from her sick child.

Why?

Because an old immigration file incorrectly flagged her as deportable.

According to reporting from The Lens, lawyers later had to force ICE to recognize she was actually a U.S. citizen.

This is the part some people still refuse to understand:

When a system operates on “detain first, investigate later,” innocent people don’t become collateral damage.

They become the business model.

And if the government can ignore:
• your ID
• your Social Security card
• state records
• tax documents
• your actual birth in the United States

…then the issue stops being “illegal immigration.”

It becomes unchecked state power backed by flawed databases and racial profiling.

A bureaucracy capable of trying to deport its own citizens while demanding applause for “efficiency” is not a warning sign of authoritarian drift.

It’s the drift already happening.

Wilfredo is 10 years old. Last week, he represented himself in immigration court. His mother, Nexoli, was detained in Houston and has been locked up and away from her son since December. Now, DHS wants to send him to Ecuador—a place he has never been and knows no one. Nexoli has a work permit and was trying to do everything the right way. 🚨BREAKING: ICE agents just kidnapped 2 high school students as they waited for their school bus.

Max is 15. Israel is 18. They were standing outside their home in Mississippi, waiting for the bus like any normal morning, when unmarked cars pulled up, surrounded them, and agents zip-tied them in front of their family and classmates.

These kids were in the U.S. on student visas. Their host family had legal guardianship paperwork signed by a judge…

and ICE agents shrugged and said it “meant nothing.”

That’s where we are… paperwork signed by a judge means nothing, and a bureaucratic technicality is enough to justify armed agents grabbing unaccompanied TEENAGERS off the street.

Because that’s what this comes down to. A school transfer. Somewhere in that process, their visa status changed without them knowing, without their guardians being notified, and without any chance to fix it.

In any system that respects due process, you get a notice, you get time to respond, you get a chance to correct the issue.

This administration skipped all of that and went straight to detention.

And then they separated them.

A 15-year-old child taken away from his legal guardians, moved out of state, and for days, his family didn’t even know where he was.

So, let’s be honest about what this administration is doing…

They are creating a system where your legal status can disappear without warning, where you can be detained before you even know there’s a problem, and where families can be separated instantly with no transparency, and no accountability.

That is a direct erosion of due process, and it should alarm anyone who understands what constitutional protections are supposed to mean.

Seen a lot of conversation about how predatory the American medical system is.

So I will weigh in.

I ended up going to the ER about 2 weeks ago for crippling pain. Turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst. I was there for MAYBE 4 hours.

My bill? $13,500 dollars.

Because I'm uninsured (by choice, that shit is a SCAM), the hospital dropped my bill down to $8,100 and some change as an "uninsured" discount.

For starters, $13,500 for a 4 hour hospital visit is insane as it is.

But the fact the hospital can wipe $5,000 off the bill "just because" should show you how utterly fucked this system is.

And to be clear - $8,000 is still an absolutely insane sum of money when all these people did was scan my stomach and give me some pain killers.

On my itemized bill, my CT scan was 7k. The iodine they used was $900. Just being in the ER room alone was $2,500.

We phoned the hospital to haggle. They dropped the price by $20.

Normal people can't survive this shit. I do okay and $8,000 is still an INSANE chunk of money out of my savings.

Anyone who argues this isn't a disgusting, predatory system is crazy. And it is even crazier that Americans accept this.

And for those of you who argue this is the free market, I need you to be quiet. There can never be a true free market here when government and insurance have their creepy little fingers in this pie.

People shouldn't go bankrupt trying to pay medical bills. This has to change.

Agents arrested her despite qualifying for a U Visa—as a victim of a crime who cooperates with police.

Locked up over 3 months now with 2 broken legs—denied medication prescribed after surgery.

Laura Ramirez immigrated legally from Colombia to Nashville, Tennessee—via the official CBP One mobile app for processing asylum claims.

She has been separated from her youngest daughter—who was also injured in the hit and run car crash but survived.

Now locked up 680 miles away from surviving 5 year old daughter at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile, Louisiana. #DemsUnited

Mother in ICE custody asks to go to son's funeral—agents took her to a "punishment room" instead.

"They took my clothes and left me all alone with a single blanket," she says.

"That is how they punish me for having cried after telling me my son had died."

Her 1-year-old baby was still breastfeeding—when ICE separated him from mother along with her other 3 children.

She had already lost a son to cancer in 2020—and says the only immigration check-in she ever missed was to take care of him on his deathbed.

María de la Luz Loredo is afraid to cry or show any emotion now that she is back in her regular cell—for fear of being punished again.

She is locked up at the El Valle ICE Processing Center in Raymondville, Texas.

The numbers tell the story by themselves. Eleven immigrant detainees died in ICE custody in all of 2024. Thirty-three died in 2025, the most in more than two decades. The 16th death of 2026 was reported this week - and the year is four months old.

As those numbers climbed, ICE quietly cut its public reporting. Until mid-December, every detainee death triggered a detailed three-page report with timestamped medical observations, medications administered, and documented cause of death. Those were replaced with four-paragraph summaries.

ICE's public website posting those investigations has not been updated since mid-February. DHS says the delay is because of the government shutdown. DHS is simultaneously claiming ICE maintains higher detention standards than US prisons holding American citizens.

At Camp East Montana in El Paso - the largest immigration detention facility in the country - a detainee died in January. ICE said it appeared to be an attempted suicide. The local coroner later ruled it a homicide. No further information has been released.

Heber Sanchez Dominguez, 34, a Mexican national, was arrested for driving with an expired license. He was found hanging in a Georgia facility seven days after his arrest. The official cause of death was listed as "under investigation." The agency has posted nothing further.

Victor Manuel Diaz, 36, had no criminal background. He was arrested in Minneapolis on January 6 during the operation that left two American citizens dead. He was transferred to Camp East Montana and died eight days later. Cause listed as "under investigation."

The reporting shrinks as the deaths rise. That is the documented pattern.

🚨A Border Patrol agent, in the Florida Keys, has been caught on video… multiple times… racially profiling, assaulting, and illegally arresting U.S. citizens.

The agent pulls over a car, removes the driver, who is a U.S. citizen, and handcuffs him…

Then, in the video, he is seen trying to forcefully handcuff the passenger, too… again, a U.S. citizen… with no clear justification.

Another agent is heard yelling that he’s going to tase the passenger if he doesn’t comply, while they’re illegally handcuffing the U.S. citizen.

The person in the back seat starts, saying, “this is f*cking crazy,” trying to document what’s happening, and the moment the agent notices he is recording, he tells him to stop and tries to grab his phone.

Recording law enforcement, in public, is protected under the First Amendment… and trying to seize someone’s phone to stop that recording is unconstitutional.

Even the person being handcuffed says, “Hey, you can’t take his phone…” because that’s how obviously illegal that action is.

And after all of that… the illegal stop, the force, the arrests… they were all released, because none of it should’ve happened to begin with.

And if this were an isolated incident, that would already be a problem… but it’s not.

Two weeks later, the same agent is recorded AGAIN, pulling over the same U.S. citizens…

So, this is where it stops being about one bad stop, and starts looking like something bigger…

Because when the same agents are caught, on camera, violating the Constitution… over and over… and nothing happens to them…

You no longer have those Constitutional rights.

The same day he testified before Congress requesting $8.2 billion more.

Today, AP revealed thousands of his 12,000 new hires weren’t fully vetted before hitting the streets.

What those hires looked like, per AP:

A deputy who falsified a police report to jail an innocent woman. A man with two bankruptcies and 6 law enforcement jobs in 3 years. Someone who washed out of the police academy.

DHS handed them badges before background checks cleared.

They got married. Billy was a retired U.S. Army colonel.

Billy died in January.

Marie-Thérèse had a green card application pending.

Then there was an inheritance dispute with Billy’s son.

Billy’s son reportedly called ICE.

DHS called her “an illegal alien from France.”

This is what we’re doing to the 86-year-old widow of an American veteran.

The specific details of this case are worth reading slowly.

Texas's only licensed Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu legal interpreter. Twenty years of court work. Thirty-five years in the United States. Son in the U.S. military, who filed a military parole application for her.

Detained at 5 p.m. on March 17 at Harlingen Airport by agents with no visible badges and no uniforms. No prior notice from the government in 35 years that deportation was being considered. Habeas corpus petition filed arguing Fifth Amendment due process violation.

She is being held in the El Valle Detention Center in Raymondville - the facility where she used to work. The staff recognized her. They took photos with her handcuffed for their social media accounts.

When the government detains the only person qualified to do a job and holds her in the building where she used to do that job... the cruelty of the specific detail is not incidental. It is the texture of what is actually happening.

The humanitarian cost of the USCIS pause is staggering.

A colleague of mine is a pediatric ICU physician from one of the affected countries by the indefinite USCIS pause . He has lived in the U.S. for 10 years. He completed residency, fellowship, and years of service in an underserved area. He has an approved green card petition. He has spent his career saving American children.

Now his H-1B renewal and adjustment of status have been frozen for 8 months because of this pause. His pending green card work permit, which people are normally statutorily eligible to receive, is also not being issued.

He has already been sidelined from work for 2 months. His wife is pregnant and due in May. Their unborn precious child was diagnosed with cardiac defect that might need emergent surgery. And now he may lose health insurance for himself, his wife, and their unborn child during a critical period, putting both at risk.

Imagine that. You spend a decade diligently saving children lives in America every night, only to be repaid by having your family’s security stripped away, not because you broke any rule, but because someone decided your country of birth was enough to make your suffering acceptable.

That is the real face of this policy.

The PhD student with cancer is not an isolated tragedy. These stories will keep multiplying because cruelty and indefinite limbo have been imposed on legal immigrants who did everything right. Without warning, and without a window to plan, their greatest mistake was having blind faith in the system or in the rule of law. They believed their compliance and service meant something. Instead, it became part of their undoing.

When the full human toll comes to light, this will stand as one of the ugliest moral stains of this era.

Just visited Juan Velasco. He’s an honest, hardworking Dreamer who works in healthcare. Today he’s sitting in a prison in Laredo, TX missing his family that includes a two month old baby girl. He’s dealing with kidney stones and has lost lots of weight because of gastrointestinal issues.

He should be at home with wife, Stephanie, and their children. Thank you for speaking up for Juan and those like him who have been unfairly targeted by the Trump Administration.
