@detillen @NickHartThorax Good morning. Patients on home oxygen in the uk receive a refund from the company that provides the equipment to cover the cost of electricity usage. Is this not the case for this patient ? It may be worth investigating this ? As it may help.

Elaine I understand I have sheilders guilt. I am working from home contacting my patients offering help, support and advice. However I just don’t feel like I’m contributing and what my gut instinct wants to do is the job I’m trained to do including supporting my colleagues.

spoken to a few nurses by phone last 2 days, because they are not working on frontline or have PPE selfies feel really really guilty. A bit like ‘survivor guilt’. They genuinely quite upset. Feeling this myself too tbh. But everyone is contributing even if it’s not ‘frontline’

@kimsnurse Totally agree I have symptoms and rang 111 on Saturday told to self isolate. When I asked to be tested as I was a nurse and was needed in work I was unfortunately told NO ??

Still a lot of work to do to change perception of oxygen. Its only a treatment for hypoxia and can be very harmful and disabling when used inappropriately to treat breathlessness. Patients end up attached to oxygen, when they are not hypoxic, often making them more breathless
