When a patient I worked with is about to be discharged and says 'when I look back on where I was, I dont recognise that was me'. 'I cant believe I wanted to die, all I want to do now is live and enjoy my life' @EmilyK_OT@JudithEtheridg4 @cygnethealth #recovery#DBT
10 years at Cygnet Healthcare!! A quick transfer to Colchester, maternity leave and now back at Beckton, hopefully continuing to make a difference on the PD service. @EmilyK_OT not far behind me! @cygnethealth @JudithEtheridg4
Brilliant to hear of the trips out organised by our ward OT @EmilyK_OT so the service users could enjoy the sunshine and so they could avoid the noisy building work we currently have going on. Responsive care at it's best @JudithEtheridg4@Jenniferbeal25
When asked why her time at @cygnethealth Beckton was different to other hospitals..."I was treated as a person, not a diagnosis; Not made to feel bad to be unwell; Whole team approach and not being pushed" @Jenniferbeal25@JudithEtheridg4@dawnrowe82@Raf_Hamaizia
Im so proud to work as an OT&as part of the therapies team at @cygnethealth Beckton. Despite the tough times, we continue to work together&adapt to the needs of our service with tools and resources to support during lockdown. @Jenniferbeal25@dawnrowe82@JudithEtheridg4
Tolerating distress is crucial to reduce suffering. We cant escape pain as it's part if being human, what we can do is learn to tolerate it skillfully. This short video gives an overview of the DBT skill Wisemind ACCEPTS from the Distress Tolerance module

@Rachel_Luby It can definitely be overwhelming. I run a DBT skills group and have put together some videos of some of the DBT skills on YouTube. They might be helpful for you https://t.co/0UFMKYoaRg
@sarahpsyc @Keirwales@Mick_Finnegan They are definitely accredited but plenty of other places offer great DBT programmes. Although also plenty of places saying they are doing DBT and actually only doing elements ie just group
