Thank you @Sportsnet and @NHL@NHLMedia for helping our household decide what to watch the last 2 nights. With zero NHL hockey games available for western viewers on Mon and Tues night we got to make the easy decision to watch the @MLB playoffs all night long. #brutal

“Hey, I’m a graduate of Saint André Bessette in Fort Saskatchewan. There’s a video circulating that takes one of our favourite teachers out of context. The video was reportedly recorded out of personal spite and dislike toward the teacher. It appears to have been posted by the account ProudBertaDad and then reposted by Danielle Smith.
The curriculum covers the political spectrum, historical extremism, and modern extremism. He gives the same lesson every year, explaining that both the far right and the far left are harmful. However, the circulating clip only shows him discussing the far right, without the full context.
He is a very theatrical teacher who puts extra effort into making his classes engaging, which is why he is so well liked at SAB. He also asks the class if everyone is okay with swearing before using any language. Everyone present in that video was 17 or 18 years old and mature enough to hear the occasional curse.
Please keep this anonymous, but if you could make a post to clear this up, it would be greatly appreciated and could potentially help save his job.”
BREAKING: Jerome Powell issues a DEFIANT message to Trump after his DOJ criminally indicted him. Powell rightly says that this is a politically motivated indictment because he refused to bend the knee to Trump. Retweet to stand with Chairman Powell!
UCP - Changing the Rules of Democracy
When a government rewrites the rules, every Albertan should pay attention.
Bill 14 isn’t housekeeping. It’s a sweeping omnibus bill that reshapes core democratic safeguards and centralizes political power. Among its most significant changes:
•Bans certain political terms including “conservative” - blocking long-standing political identities from being used and limiting competition under the guise of preventing “voter confusion.”
•Grants the Justice Minister immunity from Law Society discipline for actions taken in office - an extraordinary exemption for the province’s top legal authority.
•Moves control of citizen-initiated referendums and petitions away from the independent Chief Electoral Officer and into the hands of cabinet, reducing oversight and even allowing government to discontinue active court challenges.
•Expands ministerial powers over legal and electoral processes in ways that weaken institutional checks and balances.
These aren’t small adjustments - they are structural shifts that affect fairness, accountability, and how Albertans participate in democracy.
Election laws should build trust, protect voters, and ensure a level playing field - not consolidate power.
Albertans deserve rules that put people first and a government that respects democratic norms, not rewrites them when convenient.

Several Alberta charter school lobbyists have ties to UCP government - St. Albert News
Here’s why Public Ed is intentionally underfunded by the UCP
Charter School funding increased by 844% over 2 yrs.
UCP is destroying Public Education. https://t.co/wlucU66s9n
Carney's budget plan is a disaster. He will run higher deficits and add more debt than Trudeau.
Carney has ZERO plan to balance the budget. Here are his deficits over next four years:
2025-26: $62.3B
2026-27: $59.9B
2027-28: $54.8B
2028-29: $47.8B
That's $225B extra debt.
The Liberal Party of Canada is promising to roll out almost $130 billion in new spending over the next four years that, when combined with existing spending, will add $225 billion to the federal debt. https://t.co/o40qHflDH7
The guys who wrote the Constitution were nobody's fools.
They created a separation of powers so that one person could not amass enormous power.
It should frighten EVERY American — conservatives and progressives — that we now have a president who doesn't respect the rule of law.
KIDS: Eric Cernak and Luke Glendening have a combined 24 points in 120 games this year. But they are both on the ice at the end of the game in a 6v3 situation.
Check out their willingness to put their body on the line to block shots, including Cernak taking a one-timer from Tage Thompson who has one of the heaviest shots in the league.
Not everyone can be Nikita Kucherov or Victor Hedman. But if you’re willing, you can be a Luke Glendening or Eric Cernak and be a warrior and do the little things to help your team win games.
"An Alberta govt bill proposing changes to freedom of information rules has passed final reading despite the province's information & privacy watchdog warning they will 'significantly degrade' transparency."
That's the UCP's intent.

“In my history of being in this space, it’s unique,” Keith Ambachtsheer, emeritus director of the Toronto-based International Centre for Pension Management, told me, describing the purge as “Soviet style.”
