@1annecasey@UTSEngage@UTSFass Heartfelt congratulations, Anne, on winning the 2024 AAALS Poetry Prize! Sincere apologies for the late-ness of my X text to you. It's snowing here in regional, rural Bombala, NSW :) though digital radio is working at the moment. Again, congratulations, Anne, wonderful to read :)
@1annecasey@Prankqueans1@TheGaelicClub Thank you, Anne, so much. Very unfortunately, I hadn't heard about Gabrielle, until your Twitter post. Perhaps, me being currently in rural, Bombala, NSW doesn't help. I started reading around ... & I was deeply shocked & saddened about Gabrielle's passing away. Thank you, Anne.
@1annecasey@UniCanberra@UTSEngage@UTSFass@UtsWriting Again, congratulations, Anne, for your lovely essay & poem! In addition, my sincere thanks to Axon Journal, The Centre for Creative & Cultural Research @
@UniCanberra for making Anne's work available to someone, like me - outwith the AU HE system - to freely read & enjoy.
@1annecasey@UniCanberra@UTSEngage@UTSFass@UtsWriting Wonderful essay & poetry, Anne; thank you for letting us know! Admittedly, I have not read all of your essay or poem - just now, but just enough - tonight (before 3 am) - to feel their 'texture' and magical qualities - as heartbreaking & somber (sombre) as they are. Just divine!
@Gabrielle_Care@MidbrowNetwork@isobel_maddison@gemmabetros Wow! Thank you very much, Gabrielle, @Gabrielle_Care, for the link to the video clip! Without your Twitter post, I wouldn't have known & watched it! Now, visiting my local country town in NSW (Bombala), I've been able to obtain digital phone/radio reception, & view the video :)
@1annecasey Congratulations, Anne, for winning this award!! I hope to procure books of your lovely poetry for reading later this summer, for late evening reading. I hope to order your work & have books shipped from Ireland to my elderly mother's farm-house, south eastern NSW. Well done, Anne
@cinehawkins Thank you, Matt, I very much enjoyed Zuzia's film "Citizens of Nowhere" watching it many times. "Immigration ... constantly reminded by politicians, by the media, that you have to return ... back, to go home. Where can we actually go??... the future." Memorable ending! Brilliant!
A big thank you to organizers of That Poetry Thing on Mon 18 evening, contributors, Anne and Heather @RecentPress @thatpoetrything @1annecasey @htaylorjohnson. I enjoyed the readings very much :)
@1annecasey @RecentPress @htaylorjohnson @thatpoetrything Anne, thank you for notifying us about That Poetry Thing, Mon 18 evening; wonderful listening to you read your poetry, 'Portrait .. Woman Walking Home'. Knowing the sound of your voice really helps to feel the words. Cover image of your book is brilliant too. Thank you so much :)
