In 1940, Benjamin O Davis Sr, became the 1st Black General in the United States Army. He served in the Spanish American War, Phillipine-American War, World War I and World War II.

His son, Benjamin O Davis Jr, followed in his footsteps, as the first Black General of the US Air Force.

107 year old Viola Ford Fletcher preparing to give testimony to Congress about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, in its 100th anniversary year.

She was one of three known survivors of the days long riot, which destroyed the prosperous Black neighborhood of Greenwood.
