Moriyama designed a landmark and an inspiration for science museums around the world.
It regularly drew over 900k until Crosstown construction.
It still drew almost 700k in 2022-23, despite COVID and a closed entry bridge.
You’ve reduced it to a pop-up play area at a mall.
.@CBCNews fact-checking claims from Sarkaria that only 1.2% of Torontonians commute by bike. Sarkaria continues to mislead the public, citing "conversations" with unnamed business owners as the reason for spending taxpayer money to tear out existing lanes

Ontario won't release a cost estimate for HWY 413 until after procurement and contract awards, limiting the public's ability to assess the project's financial impact or value for money: https://t.co/u6LcZ5tIDQ #StopHWY413
I was mad at first when I was spurred to commute by bike because Bloor-Danforth trains were often uncomfortably crowded before they reached Coxwell. Then — especially once I learned to dress for winter cycling — I learned to love my commute and gradually dropped about 30 pounds.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Jim Jessop, emergency response times have *improved* since the Bloor bike lanes were installed.
Bike lanes are good for everybody. End the #WarOnBikes!

@NoMoreBikeLanes@g_meslin Oh no rain and cold. Do you have an overcoat, winter boots or an umbrella? Wear the right clothing for the weather and anyone who has spent a winter here already has the right clothing
@michelemaherdsn@londo402@fordnation I drove regularly along Bloor for many years for my work. There’s seldom 2 full lanes even during rush hour no parking periods. The same idiots now blocking bike lanes blocked the curb lane. Which if you recall was reserved for parking for most of the day.
@michelemaherdsn@fordnation They eliminated some of the space set aside for parked cars not a full time car lane. We can park our cars on those side streets.
@MackMcColl222@acoyne Geez why do we bother going outside at all during the winter? Forget about skiing, hockey, pond skating, snowboarding, snowmobiling etc.: they’re really summer activities.
WSJ tweeted this to its 20 million followers and it has under 400 retweets - presumably suppressed due to the link out. “Elon Musk has secretly been in regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since late 2022”
This video was filmed during Rush hour in Late October (temperature 8C). Most people who watch it would say it seems like there are more cars than bikes. There are actually exactly 15 bikes and 15 cars, despite bikes being allocated half the space.
The fact that the 401, 400, DVP, QEW, Gardiner (and many more) are regularly a bump-to-bumper standstill, and that none of them have bike lanes, should make it clear that bike lanes and bicycles are not the problem.

Alright Toronto, I have made some maps:
1. Primary Roads with Bikelanes
2. Secondary Roads with Bikelanes
3. Paths and trails that are for bikes
As you can see, none by themselves are great for getting around the city...and you definitely can't make it home without a combination of them...#biketo #onpoli
