Let’s talk about one thing: how is it possible that Mercedes has 2% of the ADUO? The FIA is mocking us. And we all know something happened behind the scenes.
The ADUO publication was supposed to come after Miami (3 May), but due to the cancellation of Bahrain and Jeddah, the official announcement should have come right after Canada (24 May). We’re now after the Monaco GP (8 June), and there’s still no official confirmation. I warned you that Toto Wolff has enormous influence within the FIA, he does whatever he wants!
We all remember that before the Canadian GP, Toto Wolff criticised the ADUO, saying it wasn’t right, it was bad, it shouldn’t be done. It’s pretty weird to say that when you know your team is going to get the 2%, isn’t it? And he himself knows that his engine is the best. Strangely, right after that, the FIA started delaying the announcement. I spoke with engine engineers from other teams, they are all shocked. They can’t believe Mercedes has been given the ADUO.
Laurent Mekies said this in (Monaco) FP2: “The ADUO? What we see from our analyses is that Mercedes is clearly ahead of the group consisting of Ferrari, RB-Ford and Audi. We hope the FIA will reach the same conclusion.”
Then in Canada, Mekies added: “You look at your gap to the best competition, and today we think the pecking order is Mercedes in terms of powertrain ahead of the field, and it means eight cars, so it is very significant. We think behind them there is a group where we see us, Ferrari, Audi — don’t ask me to quote the numbers because it will be gaming — but we see certainly a consistent gap compared to the Mercedes-Benz-powered cars.”
You don’t have to be stupid to realise that something happened between Toto Wolff and the FIA. Nobody is going to make me believe that Mercedes has a 12-24hp engine deficit (which is what would be needed to reach 2%).
The FIA isn’t even ashamed anymore. We’re not just fighting against Mercedes, but also against the FIA. Every single fucking decision goes in Mercedes’ favour. Everything. The starts? They change the rules. Ferrari’s FTM? They change it. The Ferrari halo little wings? They change it. Mercedes’ CR? Hmm, we’ll wait and change it later. Mercedes’ rear wing? We don’t change it.
In the modern history of F1, the FIA has always favoured Mercedes. It’s becoming shocking. This is no longer sport, it’s influence. This organisation is a joke.
