@PMforUtah@salaryan702@phil_lyman Is that why y'all are triggered by voting trends in the state? And the Utah Leg has gerrymandered the state? "We can't compete, so we'll get rid of dissenting views!"
Gov. Spencer Cox just blatantly lied on "Meet the Press" during a broader conversation on mental health when asked by Kristen Welker about his state's ban on gender-affirming care for trans children, health care that is widely supported by every major medical authority in the country.
He implied this is a widely debated issue within the medical community. It is not. It is a very small fraction of irresponsible physicians against the vast majority of physicians who support gender-affirming care, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Institutes of Health.
It is like claiming that scientists are split over humans causing climate change; they are not. Scientific experts overwhelmingly believe climate change is caused by humans.
And it's deeply disappointing and embarrassing that Gov. Jared Polis--the only openly-LGBTQ governor in the country--was silent in response when he certainly knows that Gov. Cox was spreading anti-trans disinformation in that moment.
I'm thankful to Kristen Welker for the helpful context she provided in asking her question, but I wish she had pushed back against what was clearly a blatant lie by Gov. Cox in his answer, even if they were short on time.
I will not say it again: a reverse hunger games where billionaires compete and all the losersโs wealth gets redistributed to the countries they stole resources from
@BlkIntellect47 @maklelan@gettysburgaddr2 @CornRowJoeBiden If you want to argue the train of thought you're pursuing - ask yourself:
Pre-civil rights, what party did the KKK and similar groups align with?
Democrats.
What party do these groups align with now?
Republicans.
Regardless of individuals changing parties - the platform has.
@maseweb@NateForUtah Umm.. question for you - what are you claiming changed the "high trust" aspect of our society? Are you really pointing fingers at scary "outsiders"? (AKA your neighbors and likely some of your friends)
