You’re comparing two administrations without acknowledging the difference in the resources available to them.

One of the biggest game changers under Wike was the removal of the FCTA from the Treasury Single Account (TSA). That gave the FCTA the operational liquidity and financial flexibility to fund and execute projects without the bureaucratic bottlenecks that previously slowed project delivery. Muhammad Musa Bello never had that advantage.

Now compare the budgets:

2025 (Wike): ₦1.78 trillion, with about ₦1.29 trillion (72.3%) dedicated to capital projects.

2023 (Musa Bello): ₦607.9 billion.

2022: ₦607.9 billion statutory budget (with reduced federal allocation).

2021: ₦299.9 billion, including about ₦163 billion for capital projects.

2020: ₦28.4 billion revised budget due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Give Wike credit for what he’s doing, but don’t ignore the fiscal realities that separated the two administrations.

JUST IN: Femi Gbajabiamila reportedly forged a law, used it to collect ₦54bilion from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), claiming it was an order from Pres. Tinubu. Bayo Onanuga backs him.

He allegedly demanded 4% of NUPRC’s revenue, to be split into two. 2.5% and 1.5%, the latter will be for “upgrading of crude oil and gas metering and transparency systems” — this doesn’t exist in this context. It was his way of illegally collecting the money to himself.

Gbaja assumed office as Chief of Staff in June 2023. The incident occurred in July 2023, just weeks after Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in.

Bayo Onanuga insists the money was not illegal and that it was released under a lawful order from the President. Which is concerning, because the President does not have the legal authority to issue such orders.

Apparently, the Presidential Chief of Staff also reached out to FIRS, NIMASA and Nigerian Customs with similar tactics.

Shettima and the President are recently just getting along, the VP was worried about not getting carried along and the President not giving him enough power to operate.

The VP’s choice to be Governor of Borno State in 2027 failed, the Governor of the state, Zulum succeeded in picking his successor, it almost got heated between both men but the President intervened and told his VP to allow the Governor have his way, the VP’s preferred candidate was compensated with an automatic ticket for senate.

Once Again, I ask: What Does The ICPC Want With Mallam Nasir El-Rufai?

From the Commission's persistence and vehemence in objecting to bail being granted by the state high court on clearly bailable charges ...

To the Commission's overly aggressive reaction to pictures taken with some individuals while he was in an unrestricted waiting area in the hospital ...

To the Commission's sudden forwardness and enthusiasm with issuing public statements intentionally worded to sell certain deliberate narratives to the unsuspecting public ...

Everything smacks of a deliberate intention to achieve a predetermined objective, which is definitely not about accountability.

We have maintained that we are not against accountability, but when an accused person who is undergoing trail - not for treason or murder - is treated with such high handedness, uncommon cruelty and aggression and as though he is already a convict, it raises questions as to the real motive.

Such conduct by the Commission which are not applied to other individuals in similar circumstances surely need extra scrutiny by Nigerians and surely prompt the question - what exactly does the ICPC want with El-Rufai and why?

We honestly hope and pray that nothing untoward happens to Mallam El-Rufai - whether intentionally or by accident.

One thing is certain though. We are watching, Nigerians are watching, the world is watching and surely God is watching.
