I know people don’t want to make the connection, but being defiant and unapologetic in the face of clearly doing some shit that is wrong is a direct result of the last decade of political climate.
I know it’s become pretty cliche and cringey to talk about at this point but if you’re under like 25 I cannot stress enough how one time Obama wore a tan suit and people spent a week arguing over whether or not it was demeaning to the Oval Office and they were serious about it.
This fucker cracked the code in that if you simply inundate the world with extreme daily corruption, democracy can’t keep up and eventually most people become inured to the damage you’re doing. The must come a reckoning, but it’s hard to see when or even how.
It’s really something how billionaires have rigged the rules to let them vacuum up all of society’s wealth & then fund think tanks and buy media properties that blame poverty and homelessness and despair on literally everything other than billionaires vacuuming up all the wealth
“We don’t have to compromise on trans people at all.” -@hasanthehun explaining that it makes no sense for Democrats to ostracize trans people in order to be electable. Democrats should run on decent policies that improve the lives of everyone. Transphobia isn’t productive. 🖤✨
COMMENTARY: Let’s say it plainly: There has never been a president as corrupt as Donald Trump.
There is no close second in our history.

There aren’t adequate words to properly express the depth and scale of trump’s corruption, it’s completely on a scale of its own with no historical equivalent to point to.
Jesus’ harshest words in the gospels wasn’t towards prostitutes, other religions, or undocumented immigrants.
Jesus’ harshest words were towards the rich and religious who used God’s words to justify exploitation and oppression.
Yet many want us to believe the opposite.
Many American Christians supported slavery, segregation, Jim Crow, and opposition to civil rights—often citing the Bible. Stop feigning surprise that a majority of white Christians supported Trump. And stop pretending Christianity is some litmus test for morality. It never was.
For a weirdly large portion of the population, they genuinely experienced wearing masks and getting vaccines as the most oppressive tyranny of their lifetimes, and now use it to justify and excuse the erosion and dismantling of liberties and democracy at scale.
