Boeing makes military aircraft with the capability to strap down thousands of pounds of cargo. Remind me who makes passenger airplanes.🤪🤨 I will not accept that we cannot produce airplanes that can accommodate a wheelchair. #JustPlaneWrong#PushingAccessForward@SecretaryPete
Side note - it was implied that disabled travelers should purchase better chairs for accessible air travel. Not cool. Airlines design planes for customers, they need to be designed for wheelchair users, too. This is true for every transportation / mode provider. #JustPlaneWrong
It’s #JustPlaneWrong to expect wheelchair users to buy a separate chair w/ tie-downs to use for safe air travel. Wheelchair users do not get their wheelchairs for the convenience of airlines. They get them to meet their mobility, health, & independence needs.
“Stop the blame game.” PVA National President Charles Brown
Passengers with mobility disabilities should not be injured or die while using air travel.

@USDOT mtg on travel for wheelchair users, airline attendants rep speaking - mentioning worker shortage, lack of maneuvering space on aircraft, need for accessible lavatories, something about aisle chairs that I didn't catch (sorry) + #JustPlaneWrong
Current commenter ripping into airlines about how they have space for luxury suites, lie down chairs, and bars but can’t figure out how to get a wheelchair on board. It’s savage and I am here for it! #JustPlaneWrong
Graham Keithley from A4A suggests that wheelchair users select wheelchairs that are easier for airlines to handle. I choose my wheelchairs based on what meets my needs for my everyday life, not for what meets the convenience of the airline industries. #JustPlaneWrong@USDOT
To put the burden on disabled passengers to get a wheelchair better suited to inaccessible air travel isn't a solution. An industry worth billions has no justification for pushing their inability to follow basic laws onto consumers. #PushingAccessForward#JustPlaneWrong
Last night, Rep. @AOC met with protesters from @realnatladapt: "Always always always it is the most vulnerable that are on the chopping block whenever it comes to negotiating these 'bipartisan' bills."
