Live from @acog District XII’s annual meeting, it’s @umiamimedicine ! So happy to be surrounded by current and future ob-gyns pushing for a better Florida for all patients.
What I saw and will only see more of in #Obgyn training thanks to #SCOTUS today:
- septic abortions
- maternal sepsis
- c-sections for fetal demise
- obstetric trauma from IPV
- maternal death
#WhiteHouse maternal mortality "call to action" means nothing w/o reproductive choice.
In light of the draft of a leaked majority Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade, I want to call your attention to the people that would be impacted most by the end of legalized abortion across the United States. 🧵:
Congratulations to Daniel Castañeda, a third-year M.D./M.P.H. candidate at the Miller School on recieving this year's Osler Medal award for the best unpublished essay by a medical student on a historical medical topic. @dcastaneda07@aahmhistmed

Had an amazing time at my first #AAHM22 conference and was honored to be awarded the Osler Medal by @aahmhistmed! Great to get back to my #histmed roots!
Alum Danny Castaneda '18 guest lectured this week in Prof. Jane Mangan's seminar on public health in Latin America, drawing from his senior honors thesis research on the 1991 cholera epidemic in Peru!
