DC Central Kitchen

combating hunger - creating opportunity #hungerfighters

[Zach Leonsis @ZacharyLeonsis]

A meal can meet an immediate need. Learning to prepare one can help someone build a lasting career. @DCCK connects these two ideas every day.

The expansion at Buzzard Point will add classrooms, a produce market and a fast casual restaurant, which means more room to train people for culinary careers while bringing fresh and affordable food to the neighborhood.

Glad to see the spotlight on what the DCCK team is building. Take a look:

Sports organizations have a responsibility to be good citizens and good neighbors.

Throughout @MSE’s Summer of Service, our employees have prepared meals with @DCCK, assembled diaper bundles for families, helped restore Anacostia Park, and more.

This is what doing well and doing good looks like in practice. Many thanks to all of our employees who continue to show up and serve.

Purpose tells us WHAT we hope to achieve. Principles guide HOW we get there.

For 15 years, @dcck’s Healthy Corners has worked through local stores to expand healthy food access.

That’s community-led problem-solving and mutual benefit in practice.

Because HOW matters.
