Governor @KganyagoLesetja and the Minister of Basic Education @Siviwe_G have announced the winners of the 2024 South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Schools Challenge. The competition, open to all Grade 12 Economics and Mathematics learners, is run in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education. The winning school is Panorama High School from Mpumalanga.

The South African Reserve Bank welcomes the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa to reappoint Governor Lesetja Kganyago and Deputy Governors Fundi Tshazibana and Rashad Cassim, and the appointment of Dr Mampho Modise as Deputy Governor. All are members of the Monetary Policy Committee and will oversee different statutory functions of the SARB. Governor Kganyago and Deputy Governors Tshazibana and Cassim have all been reappointed for another five-year term, and their terms will end in 2029. Deputy Governor Modise’s five-year term is from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2029.
