Back then in Nigeria, I remember telling my dad my salary in 2024. He said his gratuity when he retired wasn't even up to that. Then he asked me why I was still always without savings. I couldn't even understand.

Because I was earning almost 1.4m, and it was difficult to have savings. I thought I was reckless. I would always be mad at myself for being financially silly.

Now, I tell people that with 1.4m, in Paris, one of the most expensive cities to live, I pay my monthly rent, I feed, I do small social events, and I still send small things to my family and I can still keep almost 120k as savings.

It took travelling to a decent place for me to validate myself as not being financially reckless.

PS: My rent was annual o, yet I couldn't gather it effectively despite earning that amount.

I have a post where I estimated the most humane minimum wage for Nigerians (plus savings), and there was surprises on why I was so specific with the amount I suggested.

This is why I don't argue with Tinubu boys. They're a lost cause. My fight is with the Anti-Tinubu folks who want to give up easily. You can't afford to. There's so much possibility you are not experiencing.

Living in a Nigeria is unfair. It's very unfair.
