Thinking about moving from Product Designer to Design Engineer. Less title, more: where do I actually fit, and what do I still need to close.

If you hire freelance/contract and you’re stuck at the design + dev intersection:

- UI is not consistent, team is shipping fast
- Shadcn/ui migrated, not adopted • agents shipping UI not fully trusted • no designer on PRs, so things drift

Last job: pitched shadcn, semi migrated it with a dev via PRs. Client loved the system. Then they didn’t need me.

So I started selling the next layer. Guardrails, agent rules, and how teams actually use a DS when habits take over.

Frontier AI training runs are drawing over 100 MW as of 2025, with power demand scaling at 2.2x annually, potentially hitting 4-16 GW by 2030.

Nigeria's national grid, one of Africa's biggest startup hubs, frequently hovers around 4,000 to 4,500 megawatts of total generation for over 200 million people.

A single 100-megawatt training run devours roughly 2.4% of Nigeria's entire operational national grid.

To generate 100 megawatts of continuous power without a grid, you would need to sync 500 industrial-grade 250 kVA diesel generators, running at full throttle, side-by-side, 24 hours a day.

At current Lagos prices near ₦1,500 per litre, running that load for a year burns roughly ₦356 billion in diesel alone, close to the entire 2024 gross earnings of Wema Bank, a mid-sized Nigerian lender.

Yup! He did it. I've always felt Lapin was a bit lazy in the ring TBH, his last fight I saw wasn't impressive either. I didn't consider Tani an underdog, mostly because I didn't really rate Lapin per se. I still get amateur vibes off Lapin. #boxing #UsykVsRico
