The vacancy rate for industrial real estate is still really low, in part because retailers have accumulated excess inventories over the past 6 months: https://t.co/4B2YbV6RnL
I didn’t realize I grew up in the demilitarized zone of lightning bug / firefly name conventions (Northern NJ). I do recall being familiar with both terms, so I guess that makes sense.
Except "many" is not true. Nationally, 50% of vacancy is in 5% of buildings and 80% in 15% respectively. *Most* buildings are just fine. #office#cre#realestate
Some space gets repurposed into other uses. And, lots of office jobs growth creates new demand for workspace over the next decade. (Oh, and flexible office probably grows in demand too.)
What happens to all that office space? It varies. High quality space continues to be in demand. Used to bring people together, to be productive with colleagues, to build culture and connection.

@beckywflyhair@rcmiller510@Bitner_speaks@tenantsrightsla Seems like it lacks any scarcity, which is required for it to retain and increase in value. You can “build” something that people want but it is likely to be a fad and there is no limit to new entrants. There is no cost to “move.” I, too, could be missing something, of course.
#CPI#inflation down due to #energy, primarily. Food/#housing continues to go up. Supply chains/reopening down. August could see another month of energy declines - #gas#prices are finally under $4 in #NOVA...(not saying this will last but could help the next CPI report).
