True

@MarkBaggett This is not about python. Any programming language that works internally with floats will work the same way. See my 0.1 + 0.2 is not 0.3 example.

You can write the numbers, but the computer cannot represent them exactly because of the nature of FP representation.

Just for the record, with #rakulang it would have worked though, since it works with rationals which afaik use a pair of ints internally:

Say(0.1 + 0.2 == 0.3)

Is true with raku, which is cool!

print(0.1 + 0.2 == 0.3)

Which is false. Because even if you can write those numbers, your computer cannot represent them internally, so it works with the "closest representable number" for them. So the equality is false.
