H.E. Josel F. Ignacio, Ambassador of the Philippines to India, has been playing an important role in strengthening the growing partnership between India and the Philippines and is committed to taking bilateral relations to new strategic heights.

As our special podcast series, 'BI Interview with Diplomats', begins, our Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Navneet Anand, had an engaging conversation with H.E. Ambassador Ignacio on India-Philippines relations, the landmark BrahMos partnership, agriculture, e-visas, leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the growing importance of people-to-people ties between our two countries.

It was a privilege to interact with Ambassador Ignacio and gain valuable insights into his vision for the future of India-Philippines relations. Dr. Anand was joined by Debashree Nandy in felicitating H.E. Ambassador Ignacio and Mr. Ronn C. Bautista, Third Secretary and Vice Consul, Embassy of the Philippines in India.

Former Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar has been appointed as an Additional (Independent) Director on the Board of HDFC Bank for a four-year term, effective June 30, 2026.

The Board has also approved his appointment as Part-time (Non-Executive) Chairman for a three-year term, subject to approval by the Reserve Bank of India.

His appointment as an Independent Director will additionally require shareholder approval.

A 1984-batch IAS officer, Kumar has held key positions in the Government of India, including Secretary, Department of Financial Services, where he played a significant role in banking sector reforms, before serving as the Chief Election Commissioner of India.

इस अवसर पर जेसोवा की अध्यक्ष, सचिव एवं अन्य सदस्य, उपायुक्त सिमडेगा के साथ हेरिटेज भवन में स्थापित पुस्तकालय एवं संग्रहालय का भ्रमण किया तथा वहां उपलब्ध सुविधाओं और व्यवस्थाओं की सराहना की।

इस दौरान उपस्थित स्कूली छात्राओं से संवाद करते हुए पुस्तकों से जुड़ने, नियमित अध्ययन करने तथा अपने जीवन में शिक्षा को प्राथमिकता देने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
