@DC_OCA@BarredinDC@DCDPW Appreciate the work and the announcements you have done today and in the past on X. It would be helpful if DC government could publish these figures somewhere online.
@DornJab@DanRiffle Yes. That housing option is of considerable value - it’s also difficult to imagine that affordability can be secured if commanders will act as an additional income generating middle man between the city and developers.
New data from @DDOTDC on the Kenyon St bikeway shows very positive results:
🚲2x increase in bicycle ridership after construction
🚗No change in vehicle speeds
🦺70% reduction in vehicle crashes after construction
At DC transportation forum in response to question from @AdamTuss, DDOT director Sharon Kershbaum says bus efficiency is up 20 to 30 percent since adding bus only lanes; tickets for cars in the bus lane are down 50 percent since start
Florida Ave sucks bc it's a pinch point btwn NW&NE w/ too many cars for anybody—including drivers—to use easily.
We could make it *actually work* if we embraced the most space-efficient mode & gave the 90 bus a bona fide transitway.

Happy 14th birthday CaBi. I say this every year but I truly believe it is the best thing to happen to biking in DC. We are so lucky to have such a robust and popular publicly owned system that continues to grow and innovate every year
Here’s to the next 14 years #bikedc
Extremely impressed with @DDOTDC for new modal filter @ K NE - wide enough for cargo bikes, wheelchairs and double strollers without stress!!
@WHands80 do I detect your good offices?? #bikedc
People ARE coming back to downtown DC...on Capital Bikeshare, which set another ridership record in August for the fourth straight month: https://t.co/Y0M2EmzIa6
Guy with 80+ tickets for speeding & running🚦says the kid in a crosswalk with broken toes & tire marks “hit his car” & that his driving record “is irrelevant.”
It’s a great example of drivers who do not expect accountability. The STEER Act changes that. https://t.co/MBTcquxw9T
💯 On Monday, a child was struck in a crosswalk in Ward 6 by a driver swerving around a car at 🚦, leaving her with broken toes & tire marks on her leg. He was simply issued a ticket, even with his 80+ speeding tickets/$18K+ in fines he owes. He shouldn’t be driving in DC. 1/2
