I'm collecting feedback and i'll be answering everything here! So please leave questions if you have any!
Smash Ultimate is getting a native PC port no emulator required.
The open-source project ssbu-recomp uses static recompilation to turn Super Smash Bros. Ultimate into a native Windows program.
- Runs full 1v1 matches at 59–60 FPS
- Vulkan renderer with OpenGL fallback
- AI-assisted development using Claude
- Fighter move scripts editable in C++
- Future plans include rollback netcode, expanded modding and Steam Deck support
Still early, with performance hitches and several untested modes. You'll need your own game dump to build it.

AI-assisted development is opening the door to some seriously ambitious gaming projects.

@ThePerryBest1@katyparrygg dev here, i actually love smash, it's my most played game of all time and i still play it, i'm making this because i think a decent network infrastructure and a better platform to play it on could cause a renaissance of smash ultimate and bring back a lot more players
@SG_again@mdaman010 Hey, dev here, every function passes two checks before getting flagged as completed (one check is byte by byte) and everything is still checked and tested by hand!
@isitslopcode Hi! Dev here, ai usage is stated in the post and it's not an emulator wrapper, nothing is emulated, it runs natively and reaches 60fps even on integrated, but thank you for the coverage, hope someone jumps on the project to help!
@HarunaNGS@mdaman010 it's a better learning space that any tutorial or course, it's interactive, you can ask any question, i treat it basically as logic puzzles and don't just tell it "decompile everything and give me an exe" (3/3)
@HarunaNGS@mdaman010 it also made a great excuse to learn more about the argument of shaders and decompilation,it's an incredible tool for learning and i suggest that everyone that is interested and have the chance to give it a shot (2/3)
@HarunaNGS@mdaman010 since it's a recursive and repetitive job i think it's very suited for ai, the fun part to me is coming up with solutions to make everything works, how and when to compile shader, what to cache and what not, but it's a great learning method
