@BudElliott3 I think a large segment of those fan bases don't even realize that it was once a fierce rivalry. Fun for the older crowd that remember some epic games between those two.
@AndyStaples The level of success FSU and UF enjoyed in the 90s is hard to match for any one university. Much less at 2. I think it's a legit goal for each school to shoot for but very rare at same time. Pick any other rivals and not sure they can find a similar period. Save for FSU UM 87-94
@RohanLawPC@ramblinroundup@FSUFootball@TaylorTannebaum@DidTheACCDie@Warchant I don't keep up with New Mexico St but it was just a year or two ago, they went into Auburn and won and it wasn't a big upset. Is this year's NMSU that talented? I do think even if they are, if FSU doesn't pull away by second half there's issues. But season openers are hard.
@mercernole2021 It's a dangerous game to play ignoring the engine that drives the entire athletic dept. Apathy has set in for a large segment of the fanbase. That's worse than losing. Have to turn that around.
@1CityDeplorable@RudiFL22@RohanLawPC@Genetics56 The B10 draw to fans is it's more of a national conference. FSU made it to name under Bowden playing national games. Wins at Michigan, Ohio St, SoCal. That's what sets FSU apart from the other successful programs in the southeast. A national profile.
@BudElliott3 Ever is a long time. I'm sure that's right in modern era (whatever that is) but when you go back to the 20s 30s 40s etc you get Army Navy Yale etc. Seems like many have had a period of being near the top.
@JuevosBanchero By all measurable if recruited well at A&M and set the table for Elko to do well. I'd take 2-3 years of Jimbo recruiting well and "underachieving" with 8-9 wins to set up the next coach.

@BudElliott3 Clemson is at home I think. There's a world where Louisville and Pitt are not good teams. I don't think many saw UVa coming last year. But FSU fans don't want 9-3 seasons to be overachieving. They want it to be a disappointment.
@BudElliott3 I think it's larger than people think for college football fans. But for sports fans in general, who maybe only tune in for the playoffs, I don't know if there's anybody other than maybe Arch and ironically it's only because of his last name.
