1 podcast, 2 films per episode, and 3 hosts! We inspired Orson Welles to start his own podcast. Hosts are @alex_j_gaskin, @kiranmesoftly, and @ocarinaofcrime
As someone who went viral in the bad way recently noted, watching films is harder than mountain climbing. For our safety, we’re moving to a seasonal format.
We’re on a short break to prepare for our next season. The break’s gonna help us do more/cooler things, which rocks!
Bad news everyone, we’re also getting our name changed to https://t.co/sANr2ukVEL. We’re not even getting paid, we just got a letter threatening us if we don’t do it and we’re too scared to fight back.
Rewatching #CarnivalofSouls for the…hundredth time? Who knows. Anyway, I only just realized the church has no power over the undead spirits. They’re not explicitly demonic, but it’s still funny to picture them at the threshold of a holy place, shrugging, and heading on in.
A new MISERY from Jamie Foxx? As fellow King adaptation GERALD’S GAME proved, the “lead trapped in bed” plot is a fertile one, so the choice to revisit could certainly be fruitful. Until we get the new film, listen to our MISERY/GERALD’S GAME episode!

Ever have one of those lazy mornings where you’re too comfy to leave the bed? Our latest double feature of MISERY (1990) and GERALD’S GAME (2017) explores the nightmare version of that feeling. Special thanks to @DadWearsGlasses for recommending MISERY for our show!
My Ruptured Screen newsletter doesn't do film reviews, except when it (kind of) does, as it (kind of) does here. Read some of my thoughts on "The Card Counter," and also check out a Simpsons-themed Halloween movie lineup!

The lads (well, two of the three, and we'll never reveal which ones) are seeing The Card Counter this weekend. What the heck are the rest of you planning to watch? Also that movie? Something else?
September is cool because it gives you a month to plan what horror movies you want to watch in October, and watch the stuff that doesn't fit that mold. We all do that, right?
On a related note, help me figure out what horror flicks the rest of you watch in Oct:
Experiencing film-related content through written words instead of recorded speech? Seems bizarre, but we should give our cohost @Alex_J_Gaskin a chance to see this experiment through.
So it's come to this: I have a newsletter. It's called Ruptured Screen, and it's (mostly) about film. I've wanted to do this for a while, and if enough of you subscribe, I can be somewhat less aggressive in promoting it.
Oh, and it's 100% free. For now.

It’s Elliott Gould’s birthday today! Give him the gift of appreciating his work by revisiting The Long Goodbye. Then give YOURSELF a gift and make it a double feature with The Big Sleep. And THEN listen to our episode about that very double feature!

Honestly just a regular-style movie theater, but with an old school diner attached. The rule would be, “Have fun watching your movie, and enjoy some coffee and diner food after it’s over.”
This weeks guest is the one and only Rachel Hall and we almost end our friendship trying to squash the biggest #millenial#music debate Listen now (please and thank you!)
Oh crap, oh shit, oh dang, it’s time for another poll.
Gore has been a staple of action and horror films, but the time has come for it to branch out. What genre needs more buckets of blood?

This dummy thought he could casually mention a film we discussed way back in episode 1 and NOT have it turn into a shameless plug. What a dummy this guy is.

With every October announcement, I get my heart broken because I convince myself this is when they’ll give us a physical release of CURE, a movie I want so many more people to see and steal from when making their own films. Hard to be mad though, some great titles coming through.
In the meantime, I’ll try to keep our Twitter account active. Feel free to tag the account if you wanna talk about a movie or ask what films should be paired together. Or, if you wanna get REAL wild, ask for a triple feature request.
Also? I’m gonna do more dumb polls.
