Why do I consciously want a single unified Somalia? I have been ardently an unapologetic unionist.

Why do I believe in the unionist cause? Somalia had northern and southern regions in a united republic for 30 years, this was the most consequential time in our modern history; we led African in many ways as continental pioneers & even arguably had a better life than the gulf, our currency was the best in subsaharan Africa while we had free healthcare & education for all citizens, all this under a unitary state!

What did we gain with the ensuing disunity and the fall of our nation?

Every Somali individual has now been reduced to their small sub-clan, our politics is dominated by the lowlifes instead of being represented by the intellectual & the refined. We inherited from the civil war, a manufactured artificial hate for fellow Somalis while bootlicking any foreigner in sight. We also got everything in tiny third rate substandard services— our local tribal “universities” now teach the pseudoscience of basic level rudimentary education as top study subject.

Our division robbed us of our honour & dignity we were traditionally accustomed to, instead the Somali mother dies of preventable disease while the fake doctor from the local tribal ‘university’ sends her to an early grave because we no longer get gainful national health services. The indignation inherited means we are the lowest in all indicators of a decent standard of living.

I fight for our existence in unity, I’m against the erasure of our existence due to disunity!

I recommend that everyone raise their voices, as this will result in positive change. I receive messages from many foreigners interested in Somalia in my direct messages. Let's not sugarcoat the issues with our leaders and instead, let's examine the root causes of the problems in our country. Despite receiving billions of aid, Somalia has not experienced any significant improvements. Numerous research papers and articles are published daily, discussing why Somalia is considered a failed state. We need to identify and address the individuals responsible for these problems. When we are born, we come into this world with nothing but our souls, and when we depart, our only possession is our soul as we face divine judgment. Our actions on this earth are meaningful. However, because we can't always trust ourselves, we must establish laws and transparent systems that can easily hold everyone accountable. Hopefully, there is now an increased motivation among the Somali people to create an environment of greater accountability. We are currently facing a widespread virus that can be cured with a single dose—unity.
