It’s not an idea you got. You just know pigs can eat but they can’t fly.

It’s understanding that thoughts can be a multiplicity dispatched at very high intensity but they are necessarily incomplete, contradictory or nonsensical.

When thoughts are taken to their hypothetical limits they contradict and collapse in impossibilities and the entire mind disappears almost like it forms some higher dimensional stable knot.

Whatever happens once you and your various fabrications of self disappear seems to operate at such a higher energy or capability that the mind can’t even poke at it in a way as to understand it. It forgets itself trying to even experiment with reality.

The realization of limitation is a form of liberation. Maybe this is what it meant by the distinction between awareness or the nature of mind vs the discursive mind in dzogchen.

Make no mistake: destroying world-class universities, like the US just did with Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, isn't just an attack on Iran but it's literally an attack on all of us, on all of humanity.

It's not Iran that "won" when Maryam Mirzakhani made her discoveries that won her a Fields Medal: it's all of mathematics, and everything mathematics is used for. Human progress won, technology won, we all won.

It's the same type of stuff the Mongols did during the sack of Baghdad and their destruction of the House of Wisdom: we ALL lost something irreplaceable back then, entire fields of human knowledge set back.

That's what bombing a university does. It doesn't just destroy buildings. It destroys us, all of us.

The Buddhist texts always framed evil as being rooted in ignorance. The western mind defaults to the herd being easy to steer and that being the source of ignorance / evil from that definition alone … but the people doing the “evil” steering (the baddies) are willfully ignorant of the harm they cause even though I don’t know the extent to which they are aware of what they are doing (ie they don’t care about harm caused but they may likely know that their action invoke certain reactions).

Maybe it’s simpler if you just look at their incentives and it becomes easier to see that being evil is effortless if the incentives align while being good is as a contrapositive highly exhausting though some people find it a necessity. Some people get caught in a bad crowd early and it keeps amplifying and that is their life it seems, just to cause misery.

I appreciate rare people like you (even if you yell at people on spaces) and I hope you find meaning and momentum in what you choose to do.

Maybe strategically there are better moves you can make instead of pigeonholing yourself into an operational mode. Not sure what that is but hopefully there is something there .
