instead, we got this - double white zone. One on the curb one in the bike lane. A quick build cycle track on the east side of the street would fix the safety issue. Would love to see this @shamannwalton!

Illinois st is so sad to me because it seems like the perfect place for a cycle track: Underutilized street space, few cross streets, and a straight shot to the Bayview

Despite the red turn lights, vehicles turn right across the bike lane on Polk all the time.

It’s exceedingly dangerous, but I have a hypothesis about what’s going wrong.

Also lmao at the footnote "we did not include ***more than half*** of the bike signals in this calculation because we were surprised how many drivers ran the red light and it made the number low". Kinda makes the 92% stat useless!

To be clear these lights are better than nothing or a mixing zone, but there needs to be cameras at every singe one to make them work. Drivers will never part with their god given right to turn right on red.
