Most people _genuniely_ don't know that Karabakh conflict started in 1988, when NKAO Armenians after peaceful gatherings and a referendum formally asked to transfer their autonomy from AzSSR to ArmSSR.
USSR said no. AzSSR started horrific Sumgait pogrom.

Another fruit of azerbaijani propaganda. How can one occupy its own land? Armenians are the indigenous people of Artsakh aka Karabakh, artificially divided by Soviet and placed under the rule of the newlybaked azerbaijan.

@vartan84 The expectation that a political party with such a catastrophic governance record and visibly unstable leader would not only get re-elected, but would somehow also achieve supermajority, is crazy.
In a healthy country Civil Contract wouldn't be able to get into parliament at all
Very convenient to suddenly find tax evasion made by a political opponent who needs just 0,004% of votes to enter the parliament.
Same corruption as with the previous administrations, same abuse of power, same selective application of the law when it's convenient.
Businessperson Gagik Tsarukyan has been placed under investigation on charges of large-scale tax evasion just two days after the 7 June parliamentary elections. His Prosperous Armenia party is still awaiting the outcome of vote recounts which will determine whether it enters parliament.

I guess one positive outcome is that all the grifters who learned about Armenia's existence last week will stop posting their halfwit takes about why and what Armenians voted for.
19 parties and only 4 barely pass the threshold. Gotta cleanup this mess, most of them contributed nothing but noise during the elections and didn't even get half of the votes required to get into the parliament.
I remember this. Bethesda didn't have anything to show during that year's E3, I think, so apparently Todd said fuck it, let's put together a generic-ass announcement trailer and pretend we're working on TES VI. And it worked.. both the press and players ate that bullshit.

My only hope is that some of the smaller unaffiliated parties will be able to clear the bar and get into the parliament, and maybe next time we will have better elections. But I don't think that will happen. Would be happy to be wrong about it, though.

Tomorrow is an election day in Armenia, and these elections are by far the most disgusting ones I've ever seen, filled with polarization and hate speech. The closest thing to them is Trump's elections in the US.

Whatever happens tomorrow, most likely we will see further democratic backsliding in the future. The ruling party will get a positive reinforcement and continue with their atrocious behaviour and practices, further degrading the society and publicly humiliating the country.

This is the most disgusting election campaign I’ve ever witnessed in Armenia. The foreign interference from all sides (Russia, US, Turkey, Azerbaijan, EU, France), the thug-like vocabulary and the level of hate speech—driven mostly by the current government—are unprecedented.
