Indies are literally charging $60 a ticket and still can barely afford to pay for ring rentals and venues. Unfortunately without paying dues, the indies die out because nobody can afford it.

Paying dues is cute in theory until you have people abusing the system to get free and cheap labor. Especially if you’re a talent flown in and you have a ring crew.

Workers rights (unless it’s paying dues then it’s tough luck). You’d never get that kind of stuff through if there was ever a wrestlers union lol and a few always want to act like a union would work.

You pay for someone and fly them off their name value, they probably aren’t going to help with ring crew and in reality, shouldn’t because you flew them to wrestle.

If they do, consider yourself lucky. That’s a bonus not a feature.

As someone who set up and tore the ring down even as a champion in Japan, everyone on the show didn’t do that all the time either.

Help if asked of course. Don’t be an asshole and refuse. But also, we love to move the goalposts of standards depending on the person.
