Mind you, it costs anywhere from $12,000 to $90,000 to be life flighted and insurance does NOT fully cover that. Every whip of that chopper blade is plunging a family into generational debt.
Fuck those people.
When my son was dying @seattlechildren one of the stresses in the back of my mind was that I had likely been sent to collections because of the ground ambulance ride months prior because my son was not sick enough to land on the roof because the neighbors don’t like the noise.
Oh my. 😬
Story is not getting enough attention. AI image alteration, should’ve been easily caught (look at the ruler).
Guys, this isn’t 1980. People no longer regard institutions as prestigious just because you tell them to. No institution or journal is ’too big to fail’.
@AlisonNolan9@Naomi_D_Harvey 1/ I suspect a lot of these people have undiagnosed Sjogren's. Most w Sjogren's remain undiagnosed. It's a highly variable disease often w/ extreme fatigue. A large subset have exertion intolerance, but not PEM. And would benefit from GET (customized for POTS etc.)
It appears CBP may have just straight up attempted to murder this Chicago woman and bragged about how many holes they put in her body. They lied and said she had attacked them first but now have dropped all charges. This is the level of violent lawlessness Trump has unleashed on our communities.
Please avoid jumping to conclusions about the detainees shot at the ICE detention facility in Dallas until the FBI has had time to investigate the crime scene and construct a hypothetical text chain between the shooter and his roommate
One of my biggest concerns as an anesthesiologist is my colleagues not recognizing some of the off label uses of medications physicians and clinicians have been using on their long COVID and as an extension, post COVID vaccine patients. While this list is not comprehensive, I felt these medications were the most commonly off labeled for PASC patients.
If you are on any of these medications for PASC or PCVS, I would suggest printing this out from our paper and sending to your surgeons office along with the pre-op nursing team when they do your assessment.

American surgeon records her peer-2-peer call with UnitedHealthcare trying to get a patients surgery approved they denied
- Both insurance company doctors refuse to give their names and numbers
- Neither insurance doctor has ever performed the surgery she’s trying to get approved
- They tell her they don’t even have the power to approve or deny her request
- UnitedHealthcare makes the decisions, regardless of what their own doctors recommend
“The Medical Decision was not up to the doctors on the call, it had already been made by United”
“So here I am, appealing again”
