@miss_barnes11 It's so easy in the technologically savvy world that we live in to educate students about the world around them. Developing open minded learners who are interested and curious of the world around them.
@miss_barnes11 It's also so important to teach students what happens to waste after it goes in the bin. It doesn't just miraculously vanish, there is a whole process and most will sit in landfill for a lifetime or two.
@miss_barnes11 I was reading that the wrappers on Easter eggs are recyclable if they are formed into a large ball. I wasn't aware of this. An eco-friendly tip would be to put up signs in shopping centres so people are aware. Even have donation bins for people to recycle their egg wrappers.
A great idea to get everyday people thinking about their veggie intake and perhaps making a change for the better. But, how effective do we think campaigns like this actually are in getting people to eat healthier? #Educ4750#UoNTeach#SDG3
Congrats to @OMA_Australia and @healthgovau on a great campaign ๐
We've loved supporting such an important campaign and will continue to work towards increasing Australians' vegetable intake! #AddVeggies#ExtraVeggies
@miss_barnes11 We are very fortunate that this is something we don't really have to think about. I think that makes it even more important to educate students about other countries as many wouldn't be aware of this.
Water is essential for children's wellbeing and good health. It's important to teach children to make healthy drink choices as well as the health benefits that comes from drinking enough water everyday. #Educ4750#UoNTeach#SDG3
On #NationalChildHealthDay, we recognize how important clean, safe drinking water is for keeping children healthy. Our Water Quality group performs thousands of tests each year to ensure our community has access to clean, safe water every day. #water#drinkingwater#healthykids
At Glowing Green Australia, we believe it is important to support local #sustainability initiatives and to help drive #environmental education through sustainable partnerships. Check out our latest article below ๐ โป๏ธ https://t.co/YlxzUHof9w
@Miss_KWoods I think that would be a great class concept. Imagine how excited students would be to make something at home when they are staring in the recipe video.
What a great idea, to provide simple healthy recipe videos. Teaching families how to cook nutritious meals that they may not have attempted otherwise. #Educ4750#uonteach#SDG3
Healthy eating is a priority for us & pupils often tell us how much they love our school dinners, so some of our chefs have created simple cookery videos you can follow at home! See: https://t.co/F9gbFrTrPw and show us your efforts using the hashtag #Chadwickkitchen ๐ฅ๐ฅฆ๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ฝ๏ธ
@_danielleryner Exactly. I think a lot of the time parents aren't aware of their children should be eating and how important healthy family dinners are to children's wellbeing. Education is key.
What an interesting article, highlighting the importance of family dinners and the impact they can have on children's healthy eating patterns. #EDUC4750#UoNTeach#SDG3

The NSW Government has healthy eating guidelines that school canteens must adhere to regarding increasing access to healthier food and drink options. What a great way to increase students opportunities to make healthy food choices. #Educ4750#UoNTeach

@_danielleryner Exactly. I also think it's important to teach students different aspects of sustainability. It's not just about the environment but at a basic level of whether or not something is sustainable long term.
Dairy farmers Australia has a sustainability framework with set targets to be reached by 2030. These targets look at the sustainability of livestock and the environment as well as the economic viability of farmers. Sustainable futures. #EDUC4750#UoNTeach https://t.co/1X0JNF6pGg
@GraceMa79653969 You're right, mining's contribution to climate change is complex. So many people pass judgement without fully understanding the issue.
@GraceMa79653969 Some great ideas. Composting is one that could be easily set up in schools for all organic waste. Reducing the amount going to landfill as well as educating students.
@Miss_KWoods Very interesting. I like that they are not just planting trees for the sake of it but planting ones that will help to make their land more fertile and conserve the environment.
Microsoft partners in learning describe six rubrics of 21st century learning, including the use of ICT for learning. In today's classroom ICT has become an invaluable teaching tool. What do you think is the most important 21st century learning capability? #UoNTeach#Educ4750
@Thomson_Teaches I didn't know that. So many Easter egg wrappers around my house that I can now recycle. Do you think supermarkets should advertise this better when selling eggs to get the word out to the community?
@Thomson_Teaches Setting up a composting system and/or a worm farm is a great initiative for schools. It's so important that students understand that once something goes into a bin it doesn't just disappear.
