@FlexTeachTalent@Anna_Firth@educationgovuk@Timewise_UK @mtptproject @WomenEd Perhaps a controversial comment, given the huge difference in funding, business models, and cost structures, but this is an area where there are lessons to be learned from the independent schools sector, where flexible and part time teaching options are more common.
At Now Teach our ambition is to have teachers with real professional experience in every school. Then schools will begin to see the additional benefits they bring. A sliver of hope in the bleak figs of teacher recruitment & retention is that older teachers 55+ are increasing.
A ‘thankyou’ is always welcome to a teacher. But when it comes from students, it is particularly surprising and delightful. I’ve been moved to tears by some of the notes I received. Watchingthis there appears to be something in my eye #nowteach#secondactcareers#makeadifference

@DrRLofthouse@NowTeachOrg Interestingly the main reason our career changers move to teaching is to give something back to society, especially to young people. No doubt some feel able to adjust their lifestyle to a trainee teacher’s pay. But many more do find it a stretch.
@NowTeachOrg we're looking for new Trustees. If you have the skills to help us bring experienced, talented professionals into teaching, for the benefit of young people in schools, then join our impressive board.

@NowTeachOrg@CareersWeek When I switched to teaching I was shocked at how little the kids knew about potential careers beyond professional football. One of the brilliant things career switching Now Teachers do is to show children the breadth of opportunities out there through their own careers #nowteach
On a cloudy Monday morning, who wouldn't be interested in a report on the value of 'Laziness'? It touches on the power of creativity; the legacy of Lockdown; why people seem to have gone off work. Worth a not-lazy read.

@RingGo_parking You won’t accept any of my payment methods and the number you’ve given just takes me round into the same system. Just had a big row with a parking warden who refuses to accept there’s an issue
@JaneCaseyAuthor And for all those other items that have passed in similar circumstances - my Vivienne Westwood cardigans for example. Gone, but NEVER forgotten
@gillybethstern Again, not black. White cardigan might be nice. Blue/navy/picked out colour from print/cropped/cashmere ideal. Re white trainers, make sure they are super white and box fresh and you’ll easily get away with them and it’s an excuse to buy a new pair.
